Morning everyone Yesterdays Condo: Chyna 12/13

Thanks for your visit after I went to bed Marje. Good advice Well, still a stinky pinky. I don't remember the lingo to call me a chicken last night on how much to dose ;-) and I wasn't sure what to start with coming back in nailbite_smile . I upped her to 1 unit this morning, since I will be home all weekend to monitor . Not quite the 1.25 units from her weight...I know we may have to go up more but I'll give it a few days while the depot builds up (I believe it said 48 hours...but I'll be skipping Monday morning for the sedation/possible dental?). I guess we'll see how it goes!

Chyna slept by me on her ramp last night, I woke up a thousand times with bad dreams and she was sitting there monitoring me :lol: She seems irritated at me this morning after the shot, she was happy and purring before. She ate 3/4 of her breffis and wandered off. I'm hoping we see some lower numbers soon...I'm happy to feel like I'm at least doing something to help while we wait for more examinations. Which is why I brought her into the vet just over two weeks ago :roll: :sad:

Edit: I found the wanderer! She opened the bathroom cuboard like she does sometimes, but this time her bean didn't have enough Kleenex or TP in house to keep her from crawling in :lol: She's purring at me though...pic is a little fuzzy but:

Hopefully we will see some progress soon for Chyna. I think 1U is reasonable to start at
I think the lingo you are searching for is BCS! :lol: :lol: I would have done the exact same thing. I worry too much about Twice's safety and now that a person knows and sees what insulin can do, it would be hard to jump blindly into a dose the second time around. I guess it's true that ignorance is bliss, because I think most of us just trusted what we were told by the vet's, etc when we first started the insulin.
You'll do great, and you will definately do the best thing for Chyna

Hi Rachel,
That's a great pic of Chyna in her "cave". I'm sure she'll get used to the old routine quickly. It's good that you started her back on insulin. She will be much better off in lower numbers while you wait to see if the dental will have a positive effect on her bgs.

Hope Chyna slides down (safely) for you today. Love her hidey hole picture I never close any closet/cabinet doors before I go out, just in case, a kitty is napping in one! I have accidentally shut one in all day

Thanks for the visits everyone, I love this site and the people on it are so amazing :thumbup . I'm sad to do this, but at least this time we (mostly) know what we're doing, not as steep of a learning curve! She cried, I cried, we both cried the first time for a month :?

Sorry about that link, I'm out of practice with the fancy one that you can name instead of posting the entire link :lol: Should be fixed now I guess it sure sounds like Chyna isn't the only one who likes hidey holes, or who has gotten shut in one :lol:

((Rachel)), I'm sorry Chyna is back on the juice. I, too, hope it's temporary.
I love the cute pic (She'll never find me in here! I'll pretend I'm a tissue box...)
We have baby locks on all of our lower kitchen cupboards ~ Ripley loved finding nooks and lasagna pans to curl up in.

Well, at least the +6 is yellow and we're seeing something of a tiny dip...only the second shot so here is impatiently waiting. I hope I'm not eating those words with a pj party :lol:

Hi Josie, thanks so much for visiting. I've been thinking of you a lot yesterday and today, sending comfort vines and hugs back :YMHUG:

I have baby locks on my bottom cupboards too (which for some reason my aunt found hilarious when she visited), but just on the cleaning supplies and garbage doors...most of the rest have catches that are really good but the few that don't Chyna likes to open...and just leave open for no particular reason. Apparently today there was enough room to squish in! She has however crawled into the "bag" cupboard to sleep, and been locked in the linen closet before when snoozing in the laundry basket by accident I turned on her heated mat and placed her on it now, so she's within scritching reach ;-)

I'm sorry you have to give Chyna insulin again. Hopefully it will only be for a short time. I hope everything goes well with her vetty appointment on Monday.

Hi Rachel - so sorry to see you back her again, but i will ope that it will be a short visit for Chyna. I will hope that the dental will work wonders for her. The BG's seem to be getting better - work that juice little one!

I love the photo - what a cutie. She seems quite content there. I had to smile at the mention of baby locks in the cabinets. I have had to do that too, once we got the newest kitty here. She gets into everything.

Come on down China - blues are next. Paws crossed this is just a short time visit and the dental works wonders. But I so remember when I started insulin and the worrying overnight and waking up like you say. And the cat is just staring at us saying "what's up with you?". :lol:

Thanks for the visits and encouragement everyone! Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to everyone individually :cry: I will try do better tomorrow! I hope Chyna listens to you about working her juice ;-) Tonight is a bit lower so that's encouraging. Between our new routine of more pokes, doing subqs, and angry tierd of being handled kitty who isn't feeling her best...it was an interesting day. But I did manage (just) to get the Christmas presents and stocking stuffers all wrapped! Not my favorite thing to do, it takes so long :!: Time for bed, I hope everyone has a good rest tonight and the kitties surf safe. Night night!
