Sorry I've been gone for a few days. My brain was mush from my workshop. It was so worth it, though. I am now officially a trained doula!

I'm trying a very rudimentary sliding scale: take bg number, move decimal 2 places to the left, shoot that amount. With my mini curve yesterday I saw that 3u for any # in the 300s isn't quite cutting it. Maybe this will help, or at least help steer us.

Congratulations! My third child was born with the help of a midwife, and it was a much better experience. I didn't know about doulas then, or I probably would have used one. How exciting for you!

Congratulations on becoming a doula. My co-workers daughter is a doula and she loves it. Good luck!

I like your sliding scale idea.
Have a great night.

I just used the extremes that I knew to be true since he (apparently) broke through at 6u. I knew that 4.5 for a bg in the mid 300s is too much, but 3u for a bg in the mid-to-upper 300s is too little. So I'm just working within those parameters. I'm actually thinking of scrapping this idea, though. His numbers have been steadier (not including today's amps-yuck), not jumping around as much. So maybe just going back to a steady dose will be better. I'll see how today goes.
