Yesterday's No Pens Condo

Yup, I'd say Cinco's got this low yellow/high blue surf thing mastered. Now if he would just work on low blue/high green, or even high blue/low blue!!

Ann (of Ann & Tess) just left. We had a lovely visit and went to lunch. She met my herd and pretended not to notice how horribly messy my house is. It was so fun to talk to someone that "gets it", and to meet face to face someone I've been "talking to" for years now! Wish we could do more meeting up - have a convention somewhere or something, but it would have to be someplace that allowed cats!

Minka took a while about it, but she eventually ate all her breakfast. She even came down right after Ann left and had a snack. Sasha also ate hers in her own time. Harvey only ate half of his. Someone has been eating on the remainder while I was gone - it could be him or it could be Minka. I hope it was him. I feel like he's not eating enough, which is so not Harvey. I'm pretty close to bagging the restricted diet thing and just feeding him whatever he'll eat. At least Sasha likes the z/d, so I know it won't go to waste!

The weather is just beautiful here - Ann should have a nice drive home. I would like to go out and inspect the swamp in the back yard, but I've got lots more candy to make and time is running out. I am sorry I haven't been doing more visiting lately. I know many of you have been including my babies in your thoughts and prayers, and I want you to know that you are all in ours every day.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF and Elise's DM.

How wonderful you got to meet Ann!

I'm with you..I'd love to have some "meet ups" (I know they have one in PA each year but that's a little far for me) but it would be so cool to meet some of the people in LL "live and in person"!

How much candy are you making?? Seems like you've been making LOTS of it (of course there's absolutely nothing wrong with that ....LOL)

OK now Cinco...it's time to get back into the swing of things....How about you try to get some of those nighttime numbers during the day?

Glad to hear Sasha and Minka ate better today...at least that's some progress! Hopefully the "mystery eater" is Harvey but I tend to agree....if he needs something else to get him to eat, it might be worth it to go in that direction even if it means having to juggle some to keep Cinco out of it

Hey...send Missouri some sunshine! We're really getting tired of gray and gloomy here!

Hi Chris!

Yes, It was great to meet Ann. PA is too far for me, too. If I ever win the lottery, I'll fly us all to a central location (or maybe somewhere fun like Hawaii, as long as we're dreaming) so we can hang out together!

I make a lot of candy. So far I've made 114 milk chocolate turtles and about the same number of dark chocolate ones (still in production). Plus a bunch of barks - peppermint; dark, white and milk chocolate, each with almonds and with cashews. I still have to make English Toffee, bourbon balls, rocky road and a small batch of peanut brittle for my sister. The turtles take the longest, as you do them in two segments, and I'm limited by my freezer space (I freeze them after combining the caramel and pecans to make them set up). I meant it when I said you can PM me your address if you want a sample or two. I sent Ann home with just a very little bit, since I don't have everything done yet.

I really have no problem keeping Cinco out of Harvey's food. He doesn't usually venture into the area where Harvey's food is. It's the other way around - Harvey wants everyone else's food, and he's only supposed to be eating the z/d. Right now I'm trying the 80% method, since he won't eat it 100%. I give him a normal sized helping of the z/d and spread a very, very thin layer of something else across the top. Sometimes he falls for it, and sometimes he just eats the top layer. He's a little too smart.

Our sunshine left a little while ago and clouds are moving back in. It's not supposed to rain again until Monday, but those clouds don't look like they're kidding around. :?

I hope Cinco gives you some lower numbers soon. I'm glad Minka and Sasha ate for you today. Sending eating vines to Harvey. I'm glad you had a good visit with Ann.

Looks like Cinco is trying to slide down to the lagoon- hope it continues! Continuing appetite and healing vines for your crew, most particularly Harvey! C'mon Harvey, give your mamabean a break-eat your fuds! That would be neat to meet other FD members- how fun!

That is a lot of candy to make  ! Hopefully Cinco will come down a tad, but he is helping you out be keeping himself in a zone where you don't have to worry about him. Sending along the continuous stream of appy vines to Minka, Sasha, and Harvey. I hope you get to sit back and relax a little bit tonight, Tricia!

I allow cats!!   how exciting you got to meet Ann. i"m so jealous :-D How cool she got to meet your gang and sample your candies!!

Sending tons of vines for all the kitties.

Thanks for visiting us, Carla, Ruth, Amy and Marje.

Cinco gave us a permission slip to go out tonight, so it was dinner and cards with friends in Sacramento. I am tired but feel oddly refreshed (a good steak and some adult beverages will do that).

Everyone was hungry when we got home (even though we did feed them before we left). Even Harvey! He got about a 70/30 mixture, as the 100% z/d is still a no go. I'll keep trying to wean him off the other foods, but I don't think this is going to work. At least he's eating! Everyone has been medicated and fluids administered and DH just headed for the sack. I am going to mix up the bourbon balls then call it a night.

Ann and I found a lot to talk about. It's funny, because I was excited to spend time with someone that wouldn't look at me funny when I referred to Cinco being "blue" or "flat yellow", and we hardly talked about BGs at all!

Marje, I know you allow cats, but I doubt you could accommodate such a large group. I'll bet everyone on the East Coast and Midwest would sign on if the gathering was in the winter in Tucson! ;-)
