Does anyone know why Fuzma is crouching in her litter box for a long time with nothing coming out? It seems like she wants to pee.
Thanks for the info. It looks like she was trying to pee. Chloe just tested at 83.Sometimes cats crouch in the litter box when:
1. They feel unwell or insecure.
2. They want to pee but can't, or it hurts to pee (e.g. if they have a urethral blockage or a UTI).
3. They're constipated.
If they're trying to pass something then sometimes they dig at the litter in a somewhat agitated way or they 'pirouette' in or around the box. If it's a urinary issue then sometimes they'll try to find something that feels soft and try to pee on that.
If my cat was behaving that way I'd contact my vet to ask them to examine it ASAP and check urine/blood for any issues. In the meantime can you watch her to observe her behaviour further and see whether she passes anything. Can you move the box to where you can see her in it all the time, Roberta?

Not saying this kitty looks like a male, but looks a lot like my Blonde Buddy who is very handsome and a very nice guy kitty. My first cat had that issue when he was 17. He was having kidney decline. I would go to a vet and get their diagnosis, see if tests should be run asap.
Thing is, apparently only male cats get urinary blockages. Besides, she seems to be doing better now. She's running around. She still goes in the litter box. I'll just have to be brave and stickMy first cat had that issue when he was 17. He was having kidney decline. I would go to a vet and get their diagnosis, see if tests should be run asap.
Both male and female cats can develop urethral blockages. Males have a greater vulnerability to them because they have a longer, narrower urethra. Females with their wider, shorter urethras are less at risk, but the risk exists.apparently only male cats get urinary blockages.
