Today (Friday) is Jupiter’s bloodwork …..and tomorrow (Saturday) is chemo. We are really worried about the drive out there to his chemo tomorrow… (its like 2hr 20 min drive) …..the weather is supposed to be really bad (so Im guessing it could end up taking like 3 hrs). Having a bit of car troubles as well. Huge hole in exhaust pipe at front of car and Dane ‘fixed’ it with a soda can. Just hoping it holds so we don’t have to breathe in strong exhaust smells for the entire trip. It makes me feel pretty sick and can only imagine itd make Jupe feel even worse.
I really hope Jupiter doesn’t feel so bleh this time. With each chemo it seems worse. Thankfully only 2 treatments left so after tomorrows treatment, only 1 more!
~Really hoping for good bloodwork results so he can get his 4th chemo treatment

(Civie) ielaiana has a dental on Wednesday. She was originally given transdermal tramadol but it irritated her ears and she kept scratching them so we had to start her on Bupe instead. He said she needs to stay on pain medicine until the dental because he thinks shes having a lot of pain. The vet said she has some of the worst tartar buildup hes ever seen and she has gingivitis eating at the lining of her gums. Her gums look so red and sore.

I apologize I have not been commenting much lately but I do read some condos using my phone. Havent been feeling so great so things have been tough these past few weeks. Miss visiting all of your condos and hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Dear Jamie,
You have a lot going on right now and we hope that all will go well with Jupe's bloodwork and chemo and lelaiana's dental. We will be thinking of you and praying that the trip to chemo tomorrow will go smoothly and that the car will cooperate. You guys are all very brave. Sending vines for good bloodwork, good weather, and for Jupiter to feel better and better and not "bleh" after the chemo.

Sending prayers for Jupiter's b/w today and chemo tomorrow and he won't feel so bad afterwards and for Lelaiana's dental next Wed. Try not to worry about how bad her mouth is right now. My cat MC had really bad Gingivitis. She had to have 10 teeth removed, but she is doing really great right now and felt so much better afterwards.

Got the call from the oncologists office and his bloodwork is good for chemo tomorrow! Everything in normal range except for his cholesterol a little high like it was in previous bloodwork.

Great to hear that the blood work came back good. Sending feel good vines for Jupe to help him thru the chemo, and I hope the weather (and car) holds for a safe trip tomorrow for you guys.

I'm glad to hear that his blood work is good and all is set for tomorrow.
I will be praying for a safe trip back and forth, and all goes well with the chemo, and that this chemo doesn't effect him as bad.

Good news on the blood work. Sending good vetty vines for the chemo. Paws crossed the traffic is good on Saturday.

Hi Jamie,

Glad Jupiter's bloodwork came back good, and sending vines that this treatment is easier on his little body and he recovers quickly. Hoping your travels are in good weather and exhaust free :smile:

We are so very worried about the weather but we plan to leave early and go slow. All of your thoughts and prayers are SOOO appreciated.

MJ got Jupe a nice soft carrier for tomorrows long trip. He loves it so much and has slept in it a lot today. (Just really hope he will like it still when he finds out we gotta take him to the vet in it....) I cant figure out how to post the picture though :sad: Will try to post one tomorrow. (Thank you so much MJ!)

Will be giving Jupiter Xanax for the car ride at about 5:30am (so less then 4 and half hours from now). Gonna get some sleep for the long day ahead of us. Thank you all for the visits

Nice carrier Jupe! You're the man!!!

I'd love to have one of those for China....they have to be a lighter than the hard ones and now that she's back at her "fighting weight", she's quite the load to haul around.

Glad the bloodwork is good and really hope for a smooth treatment tomorrow with little or none of the icky side effects

Drive carefully Jamie! Hopefully the worst of it won't hit until afternoon and you'll be able to get there and back before it gets really nasty

As always, you have the prayers of everyone here in Lantus Land along for the ride!

Jamie, I hope you got an early start. It's not snowing here yet, so I hope it is not snowing yet where you are either.

Safe travels today. Often these big storms arrive much later than predicted. I hope that is the case today for you and that you will get home before road conditions deteriorate. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Jupe, you are a very brave boy!

I will have you all in my thoughts today while you are travelling and also for while you are there and Jupiter gets his Chemo.
Be safe, drive slow, make sure you have a fully charged cell phone!

It hasn't stopped snowing here in the southen tier of NY, for days.

Jupe looks sooo handsome in his new carrier. :-D ......hope he's feeling well.

UPDATE # 1 FROM EARLIER TODAY

Todays updates: (I posted these on Facebook and will copy/paste them here)

7:58am -there is no snow yet and there was no traffic!!!!! took 1 hr 45 mins to get here today... fastest we ever got here. no traffic into city on saturdays i guess. we just pulled in!!!!


8:35am- it just now is starting to snow a bit


11:20am the weather is gettign really bad outside and a tech just came out and said jupiter is worked up and upset and moving around and needs a sedative to do the treatment

Later the vet tech came out and told us they started the chemo treatment without it. So he didnt end up getting the sedative

12:14pm- We are on our way home!!!!!!


12:32pm - roads are not bad... it was snowing heavy for a little bit and now raining out this way
i think it will be worse closer to where we live. me and jupe in backseat and he is in his soft carrier from mj. he seems to like it in there.

1:19pm- roads are horrible wherever we are at
we just went past a realllly bad looking accident. i hope everyone is okay
closer we get to home the worse the roads are

1:51pm - WE ARE HOME SAFE!!!! 2 really bad accidents on the way home
He is limping much worse then normal...
 
UPDATE # 2 - Jupe not feeling well

Here is the latest update I posted on FB

Jupiter keeps going by the door and howling. Sounds like he is in pain. Not sure... but think he might want outside to eat some grass... as that is what he likes when hes belly aching. Unfortunately no grass outside... all covered in snow. I think I sm going to go to petco to get him some cat grass. The weather and roads are absolutely horrible and just keep getting worse so I am really nervous about leaving and driving.... I know neither Jupiter or I will get any sleep tonight with him howling and crying like this though. I just want him to feel all better

He had really smelly gas earlier...Hes been really off since we got home today. limping more. He was very hungry when we got home and he ate a lot... and he also drank a lot too...Hes sleeping now but since we got home he has walked over to the door several times and started crying/howling/meowing. My poor baby boy.


I cant stay here and do nothing to help him. I am so sad when he doesnt feel well. Gotta try to do something to help him feel a little better. Going to Petco to buy the grass. I am praying we make it there and back in this horrible weather.. at the very least 5 inches of snow here and up near petco someone told me around 8 inches.
 
Jamie, be careful, please. That reminds me, I need to plant some more cat grass for Ginger. Her's is all old and yellow.
I am sending Jupiter feel better and calming vines. I hope once he gets his grass, you will be able to get a good night's sleep.
 
I hope you didn't have trouble getting to Petco and back. I'm hoping the cat grass will help Jupiter feel better. Sending prayers and hugs to you. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
 
Hope you made it to Petco and back safely with Jupe's cat grass!

I have to wonder if him eating so much gave him a bellyache? I know those are some powerful drugs...might want to try small meals instead of a big one for his LAST treatment.

Hey everyone just wanted to post a quick update

First off though Id like to say thank you to everyone for the vines, thoughts, prayers, & visits. I appreciate them soooo much.

We went to get him some cat grass last night from Petco. When we got home Jupiter was soooo happy with the grass. He didnt go by the door to meow anymore since then.

Had a bit of a difficult time getting him to eat anything so far today. Was hard to give him his cerenia because he wasnt hungry so refused the pill pocket. Also very tired and sluggish again... as to be expected after chemo.
 
Jamie, I'm so glad you were able to get Jupiter some cat grass and make it back home safely. Sending prayers for Jupiter to feel better and for his appy to improve. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: to you.
 
I haven't been around lately but I'm glad to hear you were able to get there and back for Jupiter's treatment .. You are such a good momma to your baby!!!
 
My goodness, you've a a very stressful few days. Hope Jupiter feels better soon. You didn't mention if he threw up after eating the grass? I know that's why they eat it. Will keep sending vines your way, and hope you are feeling better, too.
