I'm definitely about ready to crash. I'm just glad I don't have to go to work tomorrow. I'm going to try and stay up another hour to get one more reading. Choco will not eat anything until the morning unless I actually put it in his mouth. He's out for the night. I'm still clueless as to why this is happening again. Is this just part of the daily routine with a diabetic kitty?

if you can get choco to eat again, i'd say you're good to get some sleep.

is this normal? it can be if you have a kitty who wants to travel down the dosing scale quickly. lol!
it's also possible the starting dose the vet gave you was a tad too high. in any case, what you're seeing is good!

Aaaaaaah, that's music to my ears. At this point should it be HC or LC food? We started at 2 and now he's at 1.5, do you think this is still too high?

i'm sorry, i don't understand what you mean by "we started at 2 and now he's at 1.5".
i see choco surfing the 60s... a +5 of 66.
i would feed him some low carb food. if you want a little extra insurance, you could always put a little hc gravy on top.

Hi Jill, I was talking about Choco started out with 2 units of insulin and then that seemed like too much so it was recommended to me I try 1.75 last night. Since he fell pretty low last night as of last night for so long, it was then suggested that there would be reason to change Choco to 1.5 units of insulin. That's what I have shot all day today but am still wondering if that might be too much from tonights results. I will be back at +11.5 unless I'm up at +7.

silly me! i should have figured that's what you meant.
yes, i suspect the starting dose may have been a little bit too high, but when you have a kitty who's just coming out of DKA, i'd rather work the dose down than have kitty spend too much time in high numbers. your vet may have been thinking along those lines when he recommended a starting dose of 2u bid.
