Good Monday, Everyone,

This is the highest AMPS for Rusty in almost a month. I guess it's part of the bounce that began yesterday evening. I don't think I gave a fur shot. In any event, Rusty is feeling good. We had a good test, breakfast (2 sittings), shot, brief venture outdoors (it's still pretty cold, but not as cold as yesterday; no squirrels out yet, only chickadees), and now Rusty is relaxing on his perch above the radiator. We had a brief play with MJ's butterfly wand and with Big Bug and a box.

I'm going to tackle some Xmas cookies today, make a trip to the landfill, and get in a walk. Some of my friends are climbing a mountain today, but my level of fitness isn't up to that at the moment! Too bad, because it looks like it will be an ideal day.

Healing thoughts and vines going out to Tawny, Shanga, Garland, Tom, Rocket, and all who need them. Please get well, kitties! Roni, thinking of you today.

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170

A boy is allowed a bounce every so often and Rusty is such a gentleman about it, still in the blues.

Too bad on the hike, but you still sound like you are in better shape than I am. I do need to get off the puter and OUT!

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170

Hi Ella, that's not a bad bounce, and I bet Rusty comes down today. That mountain climb does sound neat, but a walk sounds better if you're not sure with strength. Have fun tackling the Christmas cookies and have a wonderful day.

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170

Morning Ella, and all!

Not too bad of a start for Rusty... sure better than another kitty I know.... I guess they are entitled to have a resting day now and then. I am sure that he will return to the greens sooner than later. Right Rusty? And could you please remind Mannie on how to get there?

Too bad on the hike - but I bet you could do it - you are in better shape than most of us! Is it a difficult mountain? Or maybe the weather conditions make it more challenging than normal. There are certain places here that I will not do in the winter, solely due to the weather conditions... well enjoy your walk! I will be doing that shortly too. Gotta get OUT for a while!

have a great day today - good luck with the cookie making! YUM!

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170, +5.5 129

Hi again,

Rusty seems to be breaking his bounce. He enjoyed being outside after lunch, when it was quite warm in the sun. Now he is taking his "down time" in his basket.

Edward and I did a 4-mile walk, have been to the landfill, and now I am about to make Toll House cookies. The mountain some friends are climbing today is one of the "Lesser" peaks in the High Peaks region (i.e., it is less than 4,000 feet: about 3,200 I believe). But it is a steep climb and since I haven't been doing much "real" exercise this fall, I didn't feel that I wanted to hold the others back. They all are experienced climbers, Adirondack "46ers" (have climbed all 46 of the High Peaks), and have better equipment than I do for climbing at this time of year, when the trails in the High Peaks can be very icy. I will compensate on Wednesday with a hike in the Mt. Marcy area of the High Peaks (this hike was to have been a x-country ski, but there isn't any snow).

Off now to the cookies!

Ella

Dear Auntie Ellabean....is you making dem cimmamum cookies ....special Christmas ones...for your special boy Tobes (dat's me)? I wuld come helps you but my mamabean just gots home and I missed her but I comes help you, and Uncle Eddiebean and Rusty eat dem. Maybe I can bring sum to Gus, Gracie, and our beans? Luvs you!!

Oh that Tobey!!! Glad to see Rusty coming back down but he's been doing so well! Great to hear he enjoyed some outdoor time and play time today!!

Glad you and Edward got a walk in....sounds like a lot of fun!!!! Would you believe our house sits at 3000 feet so I had to giggle about the "lesser peak"    Of course, Tucson sits much higher in elevation most likely than your village so that 3200 feet doesn't sound like much to us but if you are close to sea level...welll.....that's ALOT of climbing up!!!

Hope you all enjoy your day. It is pouring rain here!

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170, +5.5 129

Nice day for Rusty today, especially with the +5.5. And better yet he is feeling good. That is what counts.

Christmas cookies? Yummmm. That is what my weekend will be. Hope you have a wonderful day Ella!

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170, +5.5 129, +9.5 49

Hi again,
It looks like Rusty broke his bounce! I fed him a little FF T&G at +9.5 (his normal afternoon snack time) to keep him from dropping further. But he should be on the way up now. His nadir is normally around +9 or so.

Just finished the Toll House cookies and they turned out well. Sorry, Tobey, these don't have "cimmamum" in them, but later this week I will be making gingersnaps, and they have lots of "cimmamum". You are always invited to come visit us, and if you come later today you can take back some Toll House cookies (which I make with raisins, in addition to the chocolate chips) to Gracie and Gus and your beans. Are you allowed to eat chocolate???
Marje, I had to laugh at the altitude of your house, almost as high as the mountain my friends climbed today! But "East is East and West is West and the twain shall never meet". Our house in Saranac Lake is at 1,622 feet, but the starting point for the climb today would be higher, since it is in the High Peaks (we are not).

bbl,

Ella & Rusty (who really enjoyed that FF T&G!)

   wow on that 49 - I guess you can safely day that he has broken his bounce. Go Rusty!!

WOW on the climb - that would be a bit much for me - not a big ice fan... I love to hike, but ice... on a steep climb? uhhhhhh.... no. I do bet it was beautiful there though. I am glad that you will get out later and get a hike in.

I too got a chuckle out of the elevation of Marje's house. We are at 450 feet.

Re: 12/12 Rusty AMPS 170, +5.5 129, +9.5 49, PMPS 67

Rusty is cruisin' along in green now. He ate his dinner (Wellness Turkey with a little FF T&G on the side) and is looking forward to a brushing/combing with his papabean.

Everyone enjoy the evening,

Ella & Rusty

Nicely done Rusty! I think he is giving Tess some lessons. No more 5 day bounces!

Tonight is a night for FF T&G!! Rusty just had his bedtime snack (half T&G, half Wellness) and his automat is stocked with FF T&G. He ate fast, so I hope he doesn't barf. I think he wants a dose reduction and I may try to take the fat off his 1.75 tomorrow (if I can measure it precisely).

Ni ni everyone.

Ella & Rusty
