Morning All!
hope you have a good Sunday and that your decorating, shopping, baking can be closer to being done....after all only 13 more sleeps til Christmas!!! :mrgreen:

This morning Sir Rocket the King is not cooperating... grr_red he is hiding under the bed and won't come out....i can't bend down to get him and neither can DH as he was scratching the crap out of him....no enticement can get him from under there...he usually goes there when he is hot....i know we turned the heat up last night as it was colder than usual....i'm already late giving him the pheno... :evil: grr_red

so now at +1 i can't test him

AMPS 106.2 (same as yesterday) breffis consumed

Sorry Rocket is giving you a hard time this morning. He is having catitude today. cat(2)_steam Can you trick him with a treat bag? Powder thinks whenever he hears plastic rustle he's getting a treat and comes to the sound. He's looking good even if he's showing his beans whose the boss. ;-) Hope your day improves

Nice AMPS for Rocket!
Sorry about his hiding like that. You know, years ago, I bought a Captain's platform for under my bed. Ok, it was basically because the extra drawers are nice...but the real reason is the one you are facing today. Cats under the bed!
I am in a two bedroom apartment...but they still manage to find a hiding spot even with no under the bed place to run to. They always find a way to outsmart us. I think I heard of a bean who shall remain nameless (cause I don't' want to talk about CD behind her back) :lol: ....used a vacuum to get kitties out form under the bed....you know, the hose....under the bed? Well, whatever works....

i think it was DH trying to get him out that he decided he wouldn't cooperate....i shook the darn chicken dust container that all the chunks almost became powder! i was not impressed....but managed to get him out....gave him his fluids too...figure i'm up i might as well do this now rather than later....

+1...no testing.... flluids and chicken dust
+2 99...no feeding...got enough chicken dust and is now sleeping on the bed in spare room...he looks oh so angelic! cat(2)_steam he sure made me mad this morning though!!!!

the vac idea sounds good....i probably wouldn't scare him though...i think Comet would freak out! i can just see it...each time i get the broom out he freaks out..but not Rocket...nothing gets him scared!!! tough kitty!

question:

i know that when Rocket's ears get cold he is dropping....but lately (actually since Friday night) i noticed his ears staying quite warm.....is that the reason why his #s haven't moved much lately?

what does it mean for the ears to be warm?
thoughts on that?

I use a broom to "assist" Gabby from removing herself from underneath the futon/sofa in my study. Then I shut the door.

I haven't a clue what warm ears mean, especially since Rocket isn't sick. I find that Gabby's ear temp seems to vary, mostly from how she's sleeping.

ears are still fairly warm!

Warm ears mean that it's easier to get a bg test!!

well he slept all afternoon...didn't eat a thing since +5.75....

+10.25 95.4 he got up and went to eat his afternoon snack!
PMPS 117 he didn't eat much here....just nibbled a lil bit

Ella....funny you mention about being able to test the BG....for whatever reason i think Rocket's right ear is ALL dried up! :sad: as i'm having a heck of a time getting anything from it....

could i have ruined his ears from too much testing? if his ears are full of scars...won't that make it more difficult to test the BG?

I find rubbing neosporin on the ears once a day helpful...plus if possible giving the ears a cycle or two break.

Attie's left ear, my favorite ear to test, is getting more difficult. If I give it a break for a day or so...it is better.

i used to thinks the temp of binks' ears were an indicator of his bg...but as the weather has changed, i'm more inclined to think sienne has the more accurate explanation...
his ears now are more reflective of which way he's sleeping...

Claudia to add pictures click the Img button in the reply box screen.

Between the flashing symbols past the image location code.

Now where the heck do you get the code? The image must be online. Go to the image and right click on the image. A selection should come up saying things like

view image,
send image,
image location,
copy image location...

You want the "copy image location." Click on that and then come back to your post and place it in between the symbols.

That is how it works on Firefox.

Depending on your browser you may need to right click and go through the explorer screens until you find the tab that reveal the image url.

They are the same thing. Right click copy and past it between the [img].

can someone explain to me how come he is having a flat cycle? i think that's what he is having, right? i don't get it....and i totally don't get the "bounce" either....i think i'm stupid....this is all not plain English to me! sorry if i ask really dumb questions....pretend i'm in kindergarten and do if possible explain what's going on....

i would love to hear what the experts have to say re my previous post....i'm wondering what i should do....or am i reading too much into these cycles?

take a look at alex's current levemir ss. scroll all the way down to the present. those flat green cycles is what you want for rocket.

so not 0.75u but rather just a lil bit to the 0.5u, right?
the microdosing is hard....i've seen pictures of the 0.5u but not entirely sure how to add more to it without it being 0.75u....suggestions?

i've been practising with milk and a magnifying glass but not sure i'm doing it right....

yes, the idea is to simply shoot a teensy tiny bit more than what you're shooting now.
these days i just eyeball increases of 0.1u, but there was a day when i would practice measuring a dose by counting drops.
