So… another yellow AM preshot. The expected bounce barely materialized last night… it was resolving by shortly after +3 (with a brief jump back up at midnight).

I’m glad. I’m also… confused? I mean, I wanted the bouncing to resolve but…. So suddenly? After that one crazy high day, just… like that? I feel like I’m holding my breath. Like I can’t trust it. Also eyeing him sideways lol. But… it’s a good thing? He was really playful last night.

He will probably go to blues again today, if the pattern is anything like yesterday’s. I’m not sure whether to feel like his shift in schedule is a good or bad thing either. Him doing his higher cycle during the night grants me more sleep, but doing his lower cycle during the day means I can’t be here to watch him.

Then again, if he stays in blues, I don’t need to be able to watch him.

My brain is melting. And I’m tired… and yet have to get dressed and go to work. Lol. o_O :coffee:  :cat:

Well so far it sounds like he’s staying in the yellows today. If this is his new “bounce”, I’ll take it. Still don’t dare to trust it yet, but… I can hope?

Maybe it’s the result of finally getting to shoot a few yellows in a row?

Symptom wise, I have noticed last night and this morning that Jack is not acting either as hungry or thirsty. Certainly not acting sick, he’s been rather playful. He ate dinner and breakfast like normal - he never finishes it all in a sitting - but last night he didn’t eat as much kibble over the rest of the night, his grazing was milder.

As for water… maybe he’s had polydipsia so long that I barely recognize normal? I worry about him not drinking enough is the only thing… I don’t think he drank much last night at all, judging by his water bowl.

Blue preshot… wow. Gonna have to keep an eye on him this cycle. Still… :)

Also finally got him drinking again. Whew. I had to not only clean his bowl - I usually do rinse it nightly - but also pour his favorite filtered water into the bowl right in front of him. (Last night I filled it at the sink instead.) And now he’s drinking like he’s really thirsty. Cats! And also, those of us who spoil them… heh….

Bella never drinks, the only time she was drinking water was just before and after diagnostic, but as soon as we started insulin she stopped. I add water to her food, she will drink / eat anything this way.

Sam also almost never drinks water anymore. Prior to DX he was drinking 600-1000 ml's per DAY. Now he goes through maybe 100 ml's per day, and the rest he gets from the 1.5 cans of 5.5 oz wet food he eats per day. That's 126 ml's from food per day, and 100 ml's from drinking. So about 200 -225 ml's per day.

Jack has been a pretty good drinker since he had urinary crystals a few years back. (Well, at least as long as I clean his bowl at least once and often twice daily. And it has to be a particular type.) Since well before diabetes. He just got over the top eventually, constantly in the dish, which was the main warning sign I finally noticed. Unfortunately he was already well diabetic at that point.

Actually, we do our best to get all our cats to drink… some take to it better than others. Some we barely see in the dish, some drink every time they eat and random points between too. It’s a full spectrum. We have one that only wants to drink out of a dribbling tap. So… we dribble the tap a few times a day when he asks. Lol. Are we humans well trained or what?

Gave some carby treats at +6.5 when he reached 102. He should start climbing within an hour I think… normally… I just don’t want him going too low before that. Greens are good for him (except for the ensuing liver panic), but I need some sleep!
