My husband is pretty sure that he missread the marker and gave Evey 0.75U instead of 0.25U in the evening. He was really tired so he can't really remember it correctly. He is like 90% sure he misdraw the dose. What should we do? Is there any proactive measures that we can do to prevent her from having hypo? Thank you~

BTW, we were out of testing strip this morning so there was no AMPS number.

Can you or your husband monitor? Do you have enough testing strips now? HC food and honey/syrup?
How long is it since the shot?

I would get hourly BG reading so you can see if the BG is going to drop. Have some high carb food available in case it is needed. And some honey or Karo.
You may need to go to 1/2 hourly readings if the BG starts to drop a lot. You haven’t got a lot of leeway with the preshot 140.
I can see the 0.5 dose dropped her to 41 2 days ago, so you may be in for a long night.
I would give a snack at +2 of normal low carb food, if the BG is just dropping normally, but don’t fill her up too much in case you need her to eat later.
Have a plan ready in case you need to take her to the ER if the BG starts dropping too low.
And have the phone number of the ER ready in case you need to ring them. You may want to ring them and tell them what has happened so they are aware.
Don’t hesitate to take her to the ER if the BG is dropping too low.

I am heading to bed here in Australia but I’ll tag @Bandit's Mom to watch out for you.

If you are out of test strips, one of you definitely needs to run to the store and pick up some. There's just no other way to know without testing.

Thank you everyone for your quick reply!

@Bandit's Mom My husband can monitor her tonight and we have enough testing strips now. She got insulin at 7:26pm. So it's been about an hour. As for HC food, we have a can of Mjamjam which has carrots in it. Carrots can boost her BG up, right? We also have Ziwipeak.

@Bron and Sheba (GA) He went to the store to buy sugar and honey just in case hypo happens.

If you don't have HC food, you can add honey to low carb food to increase the carb%. If needed, you can just apply honey to her lips/gums (if HC food is not enough).

Can he get a test at +1 and +2 and we can take it from there.

He is still out buying honey. I will ask him to test her when he gets back.

At 8:49pm (about +1.5), her BG is 176.

She had 35g of can food at 7:26pm with the insulin shot. She has 65g of food left for the night. If I want to stop her blood sugar dropping too fast, can I feed her 20g at +2, 25g at +4 and 20g at +5/6? or should wait for BG numbers then decide how I should feed her?

How much honey should be added into the food if hypo happends later tonight?

How about a tsp of food at +2 and get a test at +2.5?

You might have to feed a little after each test, so don't fill her up. Let's see where she is at +2.5 and take a call on future tests/meals?

Sorry for the dumb question, how much gram is a tsp of food? 5g?
Not a dumb question at all! I haven't weighed it, so I don't know either. It doesn't have to be exact (weight or volume). The idea is to give her a little food, but not too much so she doesn't get full.

Since her BG is not that low, dose it mean he got the dose correctly and didn't OD her?
Either he shot the right dose or she is bouncing from the lime yesterday. I think she'll be okay. Give her a little food now and leave some food out for +5 and +6.

Since she seems to typically bounce the cycle right after a lime, my guess is he dosed her the proper amount after all. Either way, I'm glad to see everything turned out just fine. ;)
