I got on late this morning, then couldn't get in FDMB , before I left house at Check's +5
My son checked from his house too, so I know it wasn't just me.

I probably wouldn't have tested every hour if staying home, but I don't trust him not to drop all at once. He let me go out and get my hair done. I feel human again.
Boy, I wish I could find Fancy Feast for less than .60 a can...and that's 'on sale'. Even online, by the case, it's no cheaper than the store.
I have groceries to put away now.. back in a bit to see what everybody's kitties did today. Hope to find lots of green!!! :-D

Yikes! 425?
If I cut back on the carbs, when he is really low, and let him come up s l o w l y, would that soften the bounce any?

Million dollar question, huh?

The stylist and I talked about our cats the whole time. My kind of hairdresser. :-D

ETA: I meant that I always over-respond , when he drops into 30's....I wondered if I gave less gravy, would the bounce lessen.

Re: 12/12/ Checkers pmps 425

Yikes is right. I'm sending Zener over with the ropes to pull Checks down from way up there. We try to give more carbs when he drops like a rock, trying to prevent a bounce. I'm not sure it does all that much but at least we feel like we're doing something.

Hey, Checkers the bean is back now, no need for permission slip numbers any more!

Prices are going up. Every time I order I have to check out all the sites again because they keep on changing!

Re: 12/12/ Checkers pmps 425

Barb I'm glad you got to go out today and get your hair done. I hope Checkers comes down for you soon. I've been trying to figure out the best way to feed to prevent bouncing and haven't had much luck either. It drives me crazy.

Re: 12/12/ Checkers pmps 425

Hey Checkers, that was so sweet of you to let your Mom out to get her hair styled! I hope he comes down, Barb. That's a good question. I know if Mags had a 30, I would probably overcarb. Ahh yes, the kitty food is expensive. Have a good night.

Re: 12/12/ Checkers pmps 425

Hi Barb,

I don't know the remedy for preventing a bounce. ECID. When Rusty is low I add a little FF T&G to his 4% Wellness, but I don't give him all FF T&G. Mainly I try to keep his diet steady and feed only his usual foods (he free feeds). He doesn't tend to bounce in any event (we are lucky!)--only when we are on a trip, and then it takes days for him to get back to "normal".

Nice that you could get your hair done today. You will be Beautiful for the holidays!

Have a fine evening. Checkers: come down from that red floor, please!

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Oy....I asked him to let me go to bed early tonight, for making me get up an hour too soon this morning, but this is ummm, not what I had in mind.

I need to know what others do about feeding, when the cat insists it's time for breffis, and +11. It totally messes up test numbers. What good is ps, if it's food influenced.
Try telling the cat three cats, breffis isn't for another hour.

I'm off to bed. I can't keep eyes open.
Nitey Nite LL I-)

Ear plugs in the morning? We take a walk just before the evening shot. Good exercise for us and we don't hear the complaints.

I think Ella is right and just keep the fuds and carbs steady. It may be more the extra carbs given during a drop, they tend to stick around. I've been trying to slow Tess's drops w/ her regular food not higher carb. Of course, considering the way Tess bounces, my advice might not be the best!

After some experience & testing with managing Rosy's low (under 50's) with carb, I think it makes not much difference with the way she bounced. I seldom use straight gravy but gravy + her usual lc. But as Ella said, ECID. You might want to try with Checkers. All I can say is they bounce, we can only hope they clear it faster
