Well I thought he would be higher than this because of his sneaking some medium carb food last night. It was only about a tablespoon and once he was into it, I just let him continue. He's been so good. Well, good when I lock him in his room so he doesn't pee in my chair. He's been going in the litterbox and now that upstairs and downstairs have identical litterboxes, my civvies will spread their joy to both instead of just his. I hope this solves the problem.
Found homes for two of the kittens. There is a 7 and 10 year old brother and sister who are going to have a very warm Christmas. Parents are educators and wanted to wait until kids were old enough for the responsibility. They are also willing to learn about proper feeding. I told them that I couldn't expect them to feed expensive canned food - that would only depend on their budget, BUT - they were acceptable to understanding why dry food is not good and being responsible to the fact that I am handing them very healthy (raw-fed + gf canned) kittens. They were all about learning and educating their community on better nutrition and the need for more adoptions. I will then have the runt and her mother which is good because runt needs more time with mom and after mom is spayed tomorrow, she will be out with her babies full-time instead of locked in a cage in the same room.
Alska and civvies seemed to have gotten used to the kittens. Alska show teeth when they get close but is otherwise very entertained by them. Christmas tree goes up this weekend. Can't wait to see what Alska thinks (hopefully he doesn't view it as another pee place).
