Hi everyone

Sorry I didn't post yesterday on the first day of remi's trial I went around to my elderly neighbor and found that she was on the floor and couldn't get up so things got messed up but I am pleased to say that we got through the first day of the diet trial okay:

Day 1-12/10:
AM-88
PM-90

Yesterday he was fed at his normal dose time and then +2, +4 +6 +8. Then in the evening the usual shot time, +2, +4 and then food left down overnight

Day 2-
AM 88

Today he was home along this morning and so got his usual shot time meal, then +2. THe +4 was left out for him but he never got out of bed for it and so had it at +6, now food has been left out for him to eat but again if he goes back to bed he wont both getting up. I hope this slightly longer time in between meals wont mess him up too much.

After I last posted viewtopic.php?f=9&t=129657 I kept remi on the insulin another day as he regurgitated his breakfast in the morning so I thought it might be best to wait. The flat plate is helping but it if he sleeps curled up then this seems to affect him.

Hope everyone else and their kitties are doing okay.

Tiff-yes I am on the pancreatitis group but rarely post but always read the list. I am still dithering about what to do about remi's fleas.

The board was down yesterday (hackers on the server  ), so we couldn't get on the last part of the day anyway. Looks like Remi is doing well on the start of his trial. Happy day two! Go Remi!

Hi Sarah.

I haven't been doing much visiting lately, so I didn't know Remi was on OTJ trial. How exciting! I am sending lots and lots of vines for success to your and Remi. :-D :-D :-D

Thanks Tiff, Tricia, Wendy and Ella

I did wonder why I couldn't get on yesterday. I must admit I don't understand what the phrase 'hackers on the server' really means? Was that an actual attack on the forum or were they using the server for other dastardly things?

Should I be taking readings at any other times? It seems very odd to just leave him alone

Would the deposit of insulin have gone by now?

He is looking great. Instead of AMPS its AMBG since you aren't giving insulin. Everyone feels strange not testing more but with green numbers there isn't a need. The ones with cats on trials test 3 hours after eating only when they have blue numbers. To see if food brings them down.

congrats on day 2 of his OTJ trial! woo-hoo!

right - per your OTJ directions (you might want to hang on to them, they also apply long-term), you test only at the normal shot times and if he's under 100, don't test more til the next shot time. If he's over 100, feed him a bit and retest in 3-4 hours to see if he's been able to bring it back down under 100.

glad your neighbor is ok. Remi looks great!

It does take a while to get used to not poking and fussing our kitties.
Your day two numbers are great!

Just follow what the nice folks here suggest and you will be surprised at how great Remi becomes.

Have you googled getting rid of fleas without medicine? I forget what it was but there is a natural remedy my neighbor followed and it worked.

keep going Remi!
