Good Morning LL! Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted last. I'm a little worried about Kibby. He's been spending most of his time under the bed for the last few days, which I guess is to be expected. Yesterday morning, however, he asked to go outside, and when his request was denied, he retreated to the window perch in my son's room, so he could at least see out there. All this occurred before he had eaten breffis, but even so, I took it as a good sign. I brought his breffis to the perch, and he only ate 1/2 of it. He then came back up and under the bed. Checking on him with my flashlight, it looked like the bottom end of his incision was a little more swollen, so I took a pic and texted it to the vet. Dr said give it a couple more days, and if by Wednesday it's still the same size or bigger, to bring him in. I also mentioned his appetite being a bit off, as he hasn't been coming and asking for food, but had been eating when I served him where he was. Again at dinner last night, he didn't eat all of his food, but around 10 or 11pm he came out and ate a whole can then. I was able to look at his incision close up, and when he was standing up, and it doesn't really look any bigger to me than it did when he came home from surgery.

However, this morning, he again did not ask for breffis, even tho cans were opening all over the house for the others to eat. I found him in the bathroom cupboard. He hasn't hidden in there at all since the surgery. So I served his breffis with his meds in pill pockets on the top to him in the cupboard. When I went to check on him, he hadn't touched it. I added Fortiflora, which he absolutely loves, and that got him to eat the pill pockets, but still didn't touch the food. He went back under the bed, and I figured I'd try another flavor of food. So I put that under the bed for him, but he showed no interest initially. I left it for about 20 minutes, and went back to check. Well, the bowl was empty, but Cleetus was under the bed, too! So now I don't know who ate it. I'm not sure whether to take him in or wait it out another day. I did call the vet to update him. He did eat pretty well last night. So I don't think he's in danger, and I'll watch him throughout the day.

I'm taking myself back to the dr today. My cough is gone, but my ribs are still pretty sore, and I'm tired of being in pain all day every day. They are definitely getting better, but I don't know why it's taking so long.

Great to see Celi on the board! Hope you all have a wonderful day. We are sending vines and prayers to Roni and Moonie.

Re: 12/11 Kibby update

Lil Kibby you get strong and healthy so you don't feel like hiding under the bed. It's hard to hug you under there! Hope it's just part of the healing process. He does have quite a lot to patch back up in that lil belly of his.

Healing vines comin your way (for both of you!) Feel better soon!

Re: 12/11 Kibby update

Re: 12/11 Kibby update

Paws crossed that all is well. ABs can do a number on their appetites, it could be that. W/ Tess it seems the longer she is on the ABs the more it effects her.

Take care, I hope you are feeling better soon too.

My feeling is that if there are bells and whistles going off in your head, take Kibby to the vet. The worst that will happen is that the vet will tell you he's fine and it was a wasted trip. If there is something going on, you'll have caught it sooner rather than later. Cats hiding and not eating make me nervous.

Thank you for the update, Anne. Sending more vines to Kibby and to you. You have both been through the wringer the past few weeks.

Add my vines to the pile. I agree with Sienne...go with your gut - if you think Kibby needs a visit, take him in.

Hi Anne -- healing vines for Kibby! I hope all is well. I would venture to the guess that the appy issue could be AB related.. We are going through that right now with Mannie... big hugs for Kibby. Good to luck too if yiu feel you need to take him in... HUGS!!!?!

Still sending prayers for you and Kibby. I hope he heals up quickly and starts feeling better and eating for you. I hope you feel better soon too.

Hi Anne, sending many healing vines and prayers for Kibby. I may have missed it, but is Kibby on something for pain? I say go with your gut, too, as to whether to take Kibby in or call the Vet. Another thought, could Kibby be hiding just to get some rest away from the playful civvies? Hope you feel better, too.

Thanks everyone for visiting and sending vines, prayers, etc. I went to the vet to pick up more methimazole for Shnookie, and was able to talk to the Dr about Kibby. I just offered him more food, and he's ignoring it, but at this point, since he took his AB's on an empty stomach this morning, I'm sure his tummy's a little upset. Dr suggested keeping an eye on him, and if things don't improve, to bring him in tomorrow or Thursday, just so he can check. He's got an appt on Friday anyway, but if he still doesn't seem to want to eat at dinner or by 10 or so tonight, I'll take him in tomorrow. I do have some baby food, and I have not tried that yet, but I will this evening if necessary. I also have lunch meat I can offer, and several other flavors of cat food to try.
