J.D. ate a decent amount last night. Not full meals, but almost, and two servings of steak bits. I gave him 1/3 capsule of the ReNew Ultimate Flora in his food and he ate it. At +8.75, when we got up, he ate about 1/8 can of FF, and there was not throwing up this morning or eating the cat grass.

This morning he ate half of his 1st Breffis before I remembered to the probiotic and I took his bowl and added 1/3 capsule and then he didn't want to eat it. I added a couple crumbled Temptations and he ate a bite or two picking out the treats. Ginger finished off J.D.'s food with the probiotics and left her Breffis untouched.
I then opened a can of juicy Great Choice Tender Beef Feast and added another 1/3 capsule of probiotic to that and J.D. ate a couple bites. I'm going to try to get him to eat some more of it in a bit.
Right now, the two kitties are laying together in the doggy bed.

I am hoping that when I call J.D.'s regular vet this morning, that she will just renew the prescription for Flagyl and I can pick it up after work, and J.D.'s poos are all solid and perfect again and he won't even need it.

Sending sweet poo/appy vines for J.D. I also hope your vet will just give up the meds - they should, but once in a while you catch them in a bad mood. And I hope you end up not needing them.

I get to pick up the Flagyl after work :).
I hope J.D. is feeling better today and will have nice solid stools tonight.

Glad you get to pick up the flagyl. That stuff is a wonder drug for Tarragon's soft poo's. Have a great day Dyana!

J.D. ate a little bit of FF at PMPS. I waited just a bit and then gave him the 2 prescribed 50mg of Flagyl. He then scarfed down some steak bits.

Uh, there was a little bit of wettish looking older poo on the pee pad (so I know it was J.D.'s) outside the litter box.
Nothing else. We went for a little walk. Kitties had to have their feet washed afterwards because of the salt they treat the sidewalks with.
J.D. will barely eat the FF, and has been scarfing up steak. I wish I could find more flavors that my cats would eat.
I'm going to give him a cypro and an ondansetron in just a minute, after I test his +3, because I want him to eat some more cat food :roll:
 
Treats and steak are fine. Now, to get him to eat cat food. I just gave him the meds.
At least he thinks his daily vitamin is a treat.
 
C'mon, J.D....eat some CAT fuds, OK? I don't know what it is about these cats....so many are fussy about cat fuds anymore! I'm glad you could just pick up the flagyl...sending solid poo vines your way!

i don't know how/if this relates to cats, but we have lots of intestinal issues in my family and i've done a lot of reading about it. i recently read an article about gut bacteria and it said that after taking antibiotics, it can take 4 years for a person's gut bacteria to recover. It might be very possible that JD's gut issues are related to his AB use - not that you can avoid the AB's, but i'm just thinking that the probiotics will help him to repopulate his gut bacteria so he can digest better.

I am applying the people studies to cats here, so take it for what it's worth. but it does make sense to me, so i thought i'd pass it on.

hoping the flagyl calms his gut down! EAT JD!

I guess I'll continue with the Ultimate Flora, too.
He just ate about 1/2 can of cat food.
