Hi, somehow the day is escaping
AMBG 97:D
He's eating about every two hours, guessing it's the mirt effect?
I'm giving him small amounts of plain ground chicken meat with a teeny few sprinkles of the BFF tuna/tilapia on top to spark interest.
Question re Bupe
Thanks to @Taffysmama being close by I now have syringes with the straight Bupe.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
So fun to meet another SugarCat mama, funny that we are practically neighbors as the crow flies.
So my question is he is eating, but still sitting down gingerly. He is not meat loafed and seems to be content. Attaching a right now picture.
He ate some cat grass today and overall seems MUCH better.
DO I WAKE HIM AND GIVE BUPE OR DOES IT SEEM LIKE HES MANAGING WITHOUT IT so hold off???
Caps because I realized my question was buried..
I'm just so happy he is eating..
Thank you all so much for helping us thru this new landscape:bighug::bighug::bighug:

yeah its the mirt ... Benson comes to me every 30mins for food... but he is also eating small meals and wont eat a big amount even if i dish it so i think that is why for him... not sure about the bupe... Lincoln got through p-titis without it so new ground for me too... hope he continues to get better and stronger :bighug::bighug:

image.jpeg Duh sorry here's the picture. He is snoring contentedly btw
Also has any one else noticed tremors happening with either the CERENIA or Bupe?

I wouldn't wake him. Glad he's feeling better. Bupe is dose to effect so not all cats need it with pancreatitis. Max rarely did. Nausea was his main symptom an if he got ondansetron he would eat and recover. I know everyone says it's painful and it likely is for most but not always. ECID and each episode in the same cat can be different too.

Taffy did get Neuro symptoms from Cerenia shot, you just reminded me. It made him spacey and not eat at all for 24 hours. (I know it was that bcuz at that time we had no bupe yet.) So I don't love it for him. But Baby was fine with the Cer injection and I gave him a follow up pill only once. If he looks to be walking funny or sitting funny, he might be hurting. That was Baby's only symptom, not being able to sit comfortably. If you feel like he has eaten "enough" for now, you might try some bupe and he'll get some pain relief and a nap and wake up hungry, hopefully. But, then again, you said he is sleeping now. Your call, I'm afraid.

Interesting, was not sure which was causing it..

Gussie looks comfy and I am glad he is eating for you and hope he continues to. I did not now that p'titis was not painful for some kitties.

I know I'm kinda posting against the current here, but given how terrific cats are at masking their pain, And if Gussie were mine, I'd give him the bupe when he wakes up. But as everyone here has noted, you know Gussie best.

Some of my cats got a bit hyper on Mirt, but they were blissful happy, and eating like pigs at a trough, AND not throwing up. So I figgered, the Mirt was worth it all.

Glad that he is sleeping soundly and eating better. As long as he continues to act like he is feeling more stable and doesn't look uncomfortable, I would hold off on the Bupe too.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it if you see symptoms that suggest he's in pain. Punkin was on bupe for months straight because of his acro and arthritis and it wasn't a problem.

If you don't think he needs it then I wouldn't give it, but I don't think you need to be afraid of giving it if you do think he's in pain.

Hope that makes sense!!

Thanks guys, sorry for the late response, had supper with friends who were starting to doubt I was actually alive and well!:rolleyes:
he seems to be doing ok. Seems content and eating every few hours. When I got home he was lounging in the living room. He is still settling gingerly but does not look pinched in his face, more relaxed. And not sitting all compressed like before. Might be a little uncomfortable because this snack he ate less than before and he just swatted at civvie Lola...
ETA just gave him some Bupe as he seemed pretty grouchy so I'm guessing he was starting to hurt..
Thank you @Taffysmama , this was so much easier to give and you are right, as You and Kathy pointed out he barely noticed it ..a huge difference than the Bupe in pet tinic...
