Well wasn't expecting that +6 for the big Orinch guy, especially not with him still taking that nasty sugary Amoxicillian. If he can do that on all that sugar in his system then I would say he is ready for a dose reduction tonight. Also would say as much as I hate that antibiotic because I have never yet been able to give it to either a cat or a drooler without wearing at least half of it, it seems to be doing the job and clearing his infection. Well I did discover with Casey he is now so fond of his Fancy Feast I could pretty much bury drooler poop in it and he would scarf it down so I've been hiding the Amoxi in it when giving it to him and so far he either doesn't know or doesn't care that his food now has a faint after taste of bubblegum. Or maybe he is just fond of bubblegum.

Ha ha! I know exactly what you mean about wearing the AB! Me, the walls, the furniture, and more on the cat than in it!  I gave Cinco his AB in chicken baby food, and he licked the plate clean as a whistle. It didn't bother his BG, either, but the pain killer he was on did, because he was running higher while on it and came back down to "normal" two days after it was gone. Hope the reduction holds for you.

What a lil superstar! Glad he doesn't care about the taste of the ABs. A necessary evil that he seems to be taking in stride. I bet he's feeling sooo much better! Good luck with the reduction.

Dropped him back to 1u tonight. He just is rising as fast as I would like to shoot where he technically should have been reduced to. I'm running far to low on strips to risk either of them trying to pull a hypo and there is no dinero until Friday night after DH gets home with the paycheck to restock on strips.

Winters are normally a pita when your married to a commercial roofer but normally if its dry they can still roof except this year our wind chills have been so low they're dangerous to even send out crews. So we're working off less than 40 hour weeks. Big difference going from nearly $600/week to less than $400/week. You get real creative to make sure everyone eats. lol

I know that feeling.
Good luck with the new dose, and good luck with the test strips lasting until payday.
