Ms P has been a little sluggish in the mornings, but her +9 snack yesterday brought her down to a nice enough PMBG of 110. Trying not to fuss and stress...really, I am, but these numbers definitely make me edgy nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile ! At least she IS coming down, but I would much prefer her to act like a traditional OTJ kitty. Crazy cat with a crazy pancreas she is! I'm working today, so unfortunately, no +9 snicky snack  ...

I found THE best case of Fancy Feast EVER yesterday. Unfortunately it was the last one, or I would go back for more. When I gave Trix her +9 snack from the new case, she absolutely devoured it. I figured she was just hungry. But when I gave her the first round of dinner, she CPCed without even glancing at the kibble-crunching kibbleheads! That is a rarity. I'd love to know why this case is so spectacular! I mean, she always enjoys a good Fancy Feast, but this was just off the charts. Between +9 and bedtime, she ate about 1 1/4 can!

I also discovered that she no longer has an aversion to FortiFlora - woohoo! Just for the heck of it, I sprinkled some on some stale old food (according to Trix- it had been opened for a whopping couple of hours) that was in the fridge. I knew she probably wasn't going to eat it and I would end up tossing it, so what the heck - let's see what she thinks of FortiFlora. She almost licked that plate clean, too! She LOVED FortiFlora before she got sick in April, but hadn't been willing to touch it for months. I guess she forgot that she had an aversion to it. This is a big help...I'm hoping it will reduce the amount of fuds I toss, since she does prefer "fresh new can" as opposed to "refrigerated open can" fuds. If Forta Flora will get her to eat refrigerated food more enthusiastically, that is awesome.

My Dad's platelets were too low yesterday, so no chemo. Since this is the third time in a row for the platelet issue, the doc decided to just put him on a 3-week schedule, instead of a 2-week schedule. There's no point in us continuing to go there and spend several hours only to find out he can't get treatment. So, we'll be going back next week. This new schedule completely puts him in the clear for both Christmas and New Year's (although New Year's is nothing at all for my family...it's never been a big deal to us.) The schedule change also put a monkey wrench into our plans for my birthday next week, and that kind of threw my Mom into a tizzy, but I quickly regrouped and rescheduled....now we're going to go out on my actual birthday, which is Sunday. Normally I really don't care about birthdays, but this is my 50th, so that in combination with my Dad, I want to have a celebration this year. We'll be going to my absolute favorite vegetarian restaurant in the whole wide world, Blue Sage. Yum.

Time to get in motion....have a great day, LL!

Get going, Ms. P! You've got a bit of work to do. Nice that the fortiflora is good again! I know what you mean about throwing away food... Many vines for DF and the family. With the big 5-0, you can celebrate for the whole month. :-D :-D

Sounds like it's a good thing that the chemo got moved up a week. It's nice to celebrate happy events on the actual day when possible and your dad will get to feel good for all the special ones. New Years Day is a big one for us because it's my DM's birthday! Have a nice day at work. Hopefully you will come home to a happy Trixie.
