Hello again, Monday. I see you're back again. :YMSIGH:

Well, my real alarms went off this morning and then Shasta joined in to make sure that I really got out of bed. Wishing it were still the weekend. Would love to go back to bed. I'm exhausted and really wish I could have a nap...right now. Shasta is...pathetic. She ate some breffis by herself, then I had to come out here and sit with her to encourage her to eat. THEN I had to put some PureBites dust on her food...twice...to get to to finish. By the time she finished, she was completely laying down, eating from her bowl that I put in front of her. Pathetic! Now, I'm sitting on the floor and she's on the couch behind me!

I added .5mL of atenolol this morning, because I keep thinking I'm seeing signs of saddle thrombosis and I would rather keep her on this medicine versus her dying from a blood clot when I've got the medicine sitting right there. (For those who may have forgotten or did not know...my new vet asked me if I would start backing her off of the atenolol since I hadn't seen signs of saddle thrombosis in several years; she's been on the medicine since 2006. He said that sometimes, prolonged use of medication can mask other symptoms, problems, etc. I backed her off from .8mL to .5mL and just recently to .45mL) Well, I gave her .5 mL this morning and will probably give her .3mL tonight.

She was stalking my hand just a minute ago; a little LB action (of the pee kind); a little preening. She almost didn't make her jump from the toilet to the basin. Got me worried. Are you shocked?! She had several bad sneezing fits last week and I thought I was going to have a panic attack. Ok, time for +1 poke. Hope everyone has a lovely Monday! Blessings to all the kitties and their beans!

Morning guys! I know the feeling about sleep, ugh! Hope you have a great day and Shasta comes down to the lagoon!
Good luck with the atenolol!
I think our kitties like being serviced by us for their food. Shasta has you wrapped around her paw, lol!

That really made me laugh this morning.   They are just so freakin adorable.   I keep missing your condo lately and I am sorry. Sounds like things are silly as ever at your house. Hope you both have a wonderful day!

Hi Michelle & Scrabble - Ok, if I thought I was dragging today...it was NOTHING like my students. Oh my goodness, we are all ready for this break. Between all the icky sickness that is going around to the stress of concerts and exams...we are all fried! I am definitely wrapped around Shasta's paw. She has trained me well. Hope you guys had a wonderful day with lots of snuggles!

Hi Melissa & Tarragon - I know, I've been silly, busy and not posting until late (all last week). I tried to get around to as many condos as I could this weekend, but fell short...WAY short! Glad I could provide a little giggle this morning!!!! Hope you and Tarragon have had a great day with pretty numbers!

Re: 12/10 Shasta PMPS=274

Hi Deborah - I am laughing at Shasta getting you down on the ground and finishing the meal laying down probably with her head sideways in the bowl! LOL! They have us SO trained don't they? I understand what you mean about the sleep. Sometimes the weekend just doesn't seem long enough to get the chores done and get caught up on sleep. I ALMOST finished my list this weekend.

Good luck on the drugs. My BJ (GA) died suddenly of saddle thrombosis - he was about 2 and we'd only had him a year, and had no idea. He went from no symptoms to gone in my arms in about 60 seconds. I completely understand why you would be hesitant to change anything. I hope she continues to stalk you and play - I hope Shasta's numbers slide down for you. Have a good night!

Hi Deborah,
I hope that Shasta had a nice day after what she put you through this morning. Did you know that L lysine is good for the "sneezies"? 1/4 teaspoon at breakfast and at dinner. It seems to work. It is tasteless and the powder can be mixed into Shasta's food. I buy the 500mg capsules, take them apart, and measure out about 1/4 teasp.

Have a good evening and get some sleep!
