Yesterdays post w pic of a stoned Maverick after playing with his Nanner imposter toy: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=31712

I also got him a catnip infused mat from the craft show yesterday. He just seems to seek it out, lie on it and groom on it. I wish I had found organic catnip many many years ago. ohmygod_smile Just thought he wasn't a fan of catnip.

He is playing again with the "its not a nanner toy" lmao. Its like I have a 15lb kitten with arthritis

Hi Kerrie,

Maverick is sure having great #'s. You should be very proud of yourself for taking such good care of him.

Love the pic of stoned Maverick. I bought some of the nanners, they are knockoffs. But my cats still go banners for them and love to sleep on it after they have killed it. :-D I love to see them having so much fun.

Awww that picture made my day. I wish they were Nanners or Nanner knock offs. Just seeing him walking around with a banana would be absolutely hilarious. I wonder if that's the appeal - for our own amusement. If only they knew we were laughing AT them, and not with them.

love to sleep on it after they have killed it.

Re: 12/10 Maverick - PMPS 77 - why dose a decrease work?

And I was sure I had done a furshot this morning. Nope.

Can someone help me understand the logic behind a dose decrease working - when a cat earns it by staying green and not going low. I can't understand why the numbers stay the same as they did before a decrease. Is this due to the shed. Should I expect a change after more cycles?

Re: 12/10 Maverick - PMPS 77 - why dose a decrease work?

Ostensibly, when a cat earns a decrease by being in mostly green numbers for a week, the logic of the decrease if that the pancreas doesn't need as much insulin.

Re: 12/10 Maverick - PMPS 77 - why dose a decrease work?

Maverick sure doesn't seem to realize that he's getting less juice, does he? Gorgeous numbers, keep up the good work! His numbers just keep getting better and better.

I like the training wheels on the bike analogy...I think it makes sense. The insulin allows the pancreas to not work so hard, as you gradually reduce, the pancreas picks up the slack little by little.

Ok I need to imagine Maverick with the training wheels lol. I kept wracking my brain about it today because I get surprised every time I test him and it has yet to reflect a decrease (expected a decrease blip of some kind by now). Just need to keep reading the reply about the training wheels until the light turns on.
