don't know which ISG I go to but I will start here. Have not posted for several days. Harley is fine, just all over the place. Did have to take him into the vet, 12/8, because I could not get his to stay above 40. He has gotten quiet a reduction of insulin - down to 2.5u. Tonight he is falling again - now at +11/64.

Question - if I want to shoot early to get him back to his regular time of shot, how much do I shave off his dose. Shooting early would be like adding insulin, right?

Re: Harley update

Shooting early is like a dose increase.

I'm not sure why you didn't decrease Harley's dose after how hard you were working to get his levels up on 12/8. It sure looks like Harley wanted less insulin to me! A drop below 40 is one way to reduce. Working that hard to keep the numbers up is another.

At this point, I don't know that I would shoot more than 15 min. early. I do think you should consider Harley's usual dose at 2.25u. I also think you should gauge what to shoot based on what the PMPS number is. If you are way off schedule and Harley's numbers are lower than you're comfortable shooting, you can consider skipping the dose tonight so you don't have another battle on your hands.

Re: Harley update

Also, if you happen to skip the shot, you can get right back on schedule tomorrow.

Harley continues to fall. At this rate, he should hit 40 before +13. He will get a reduction tonight to 2.25 if that happens. He is crying for food so I have given him a small amount of cooked chicken, less than 1/4 oz.
