12/10 Gus AMPS 266, +9 274 PMPS 286, +2 293

Feeling a bit defeated today. Hope the increase to 3.5u tomorrow will bring some good to this kitty. Just not sure what’s going on with him.

He had some softer than usually stool tonight.. almost but not really diarrhea. I think he finished Ruby’s kibble last night… that’s my guess. He’s generally a good pooper :)

Hope you’re right. We’ll keep on truckin’ until we get there.

Was really thinking we hit a good dose (or the start of good doses) with 3u with those greens. Then we increased by .25u and we get high yellows and pinks again.. just really wondering what’s going on in his body.

At what point do we revisit the vet for additional tests? It might be too soon since he’s not really showing signs of anything abnormal - tho I know they hide things well. We test for ketones once or twice a week - or if he has a really high day. He is eating well/drinking normal amounts of water. Energy levels are ok… not like he was months before diagnosis but better then when he was diagnosed.

I guess I may have just answered my own question… talk to a vet when any of the above change..?

Yeah, I thought that too, but that ended up being a one-off.

I think it's glucose toxicity and not anything else. When was the last time his bloodwork was done? At diagnosis? Was anything else amiss besides his blood sugar? Kidney values etc?

Ya, last bloodwork and urinalysis was done at diagnosis. I never got any paperwork back but I’m going to ask him for it - I’ll send them an email tomorrow. It’s actually been bugging me a bit that I didn’t get it… I’m just curious and would like to have it

BUT when he told me it was diabetes, he said that besides that, he was overall a healthy boy, organs were in good shape and that the diabetes was caught early.

He also had a lump biopsy done at the time that turned up to be just fatty tissue - he had a lump on his mammary gland area and he thought we shouldn’t let that one go untested and I agreed of course.

I am always surprised that some places don't send you the results unless you specifically ask for them!
