So we are on our second reduced dose. Its so hard even with my glasses to get a .75 - even with the reference syringe.

That .75 is a tough measurement. Good luck with the new dose. :mrgreen:

Good start to Maverick's day.

Yes those inbtwn doses are a challenge....I finally bought a 4x magnifying glass....Very cool...You can see a big difference w/the dosing and also see any pesky little bubbles too.

Hi Karrie, Thanks for the tip about blowing on the fur to see the skin. I'll be sure to try it this evening. Great number for Maverick this morning. Have fun "seeing" the new dose! Sorry I can't help you there. I'm nearsighted, so all I have to do to see the markings is take off my glasses!

Great numbers Maverick! :mrgreen: I usually go to the next even number and count off a drop. Seems to work consistently for me anyway. Not sure if others do it that way. And you asked about the alarms...I use just my regular cell phone. I did get a battery operated alarm clock when the cell phone didn't wake me well enough. One morning in particular, I woke up with my cell phone cradled in my arms and not +8 test results for either hungry kitty!
But I can't reset that little clock for one more hour once it goes off. So, I use the cell phone when I need to wake up in an hour for a retest. It is definitely a problem because i do need to get up in the middle of the night...so when something doesn't wake me, I am really sunk. That alarm you have sounds very efficient! :lol:

If it wasn't for the iphone alarm clock app I wouldn't know why I was waking up - to test Maverick or to give my dog her heart medication. I can apply labels to the alarm popups. I have alarms set for testing Maverick, 10 minutes before he needs his insulin, my dog five or six times a day/night for meds.

I am reading condos - how do you guys keep up!!! My coffee keeps getting cold because I forget about it. I warm it up and it gets cold again. I need a coffee mug warmer to keep up with the condo reading.

Great numbers for Maverick, Karrie!!! I am soooo with you on the .75u. I think it is the hardest dose to draw up altho we've never been below .5u so I'm sure as you're getting down to the .25u and the .1u and the DROP that it gets even more difficult. Looks like it might not be long before you are there. Libby told me that you want to strive for consistency...that's tough, too. Not only do these companies need to make a syringe for microdosing but they need to have the lines colored differently than the plunger :lol: :lol: Keep up the great work!!

We should invent that darnit. I think I will get a good magnifying glass. No matter how much lighting I have it still is hard to see crisply.

You guys really are the best. I think at the one drop mark, I'll be wasting a lot more insulin than I'll be using

Summary of the first half of today:
AMPS: 88
+3: 79
+5.3: 70
+6.5: 79
+9: 85

I realized his plate was empty at +9 but I didn't refill it. I realize now it was three hours before his shot and he could have eaten ohmygod_smile He ate most of his 3oz of food I'd say between +3 and +7. He is a free feeder. He hasn't gained weight, so I was surprised by this. I thought the appetite staying high, plus the insulin would have meant a weight gain. He was down a tiny amount (15.40lbs) from 11/15 when he was 15.48lbs.

It took me five minutes to get what I think was the same as the reference shot. I need a magnifying glass for sure.
