November 30, 2018 Condo - Day 24 Post Dental - First Reduction Post Dental!

Good morning all,
Yesterday was pretty eventful for my buddy Lou. He earned his first reduction post dental, which is super exciting. We also got his Levemir ordered from Marks Marine. I hope it arrives next week. He's bouncing this morning from the 34 yesterday, although his BGs took their time going up. I hope he comes down soon, which is possible, but who knows with Loudogg.

Nothing much on the bean docket today, which I'm endlessly excited about. It was a long week.... I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely! Sending vines to all those kitties and beans in need, especially Jonesy (@Tracey&Jones). :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I looked up the price for Levemir at Marks & it's very good. Do they let you order just one pen?

I'm using about a third less insulin with Levemir than I did with Lantus! A pen lasts us for about 4 months. The Levemir worked just fine to the last dose! I started the second pen a few weeks ago.

If you look at Ravan's SS he was on 1.25 units of Lantus & the first dose of Levemir was .75 ( as recommended by our Experts here) He dropped too low & I reduced to .5 but he dropped again.
When I look back now I see I should have held the .5 dose for maybe a week so his body could get used to the new insulin.

I'm glad I switched to Levemir. Less insulin is good!

I honestly have no idea, although I don't think so. I only think that they list 5 pens on the website. I figure I may as well order them all since I understand they have a long expiration date.

That is AWESOME! I'm definitely hoping for some similarly good results for my buddy Lou. We've been at a minimum of 2.0u of insulin for a really long time, so going lower would be crazy yet great. Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
