Good morning all!

So the diarrhea self corrected. I went to store bought the florastor with the intention of giving it to him with his dinner 2 nights ago. He had gone to the bathroom while I was gone and it was normal.

I do have it now and I have started giving him a little psyllium husk morning and night in his meals to help his gut continue healing.

Isn't that just like a cat...LOL

I have found that too much psyllium can also cause diarrhea. My civvie Budge gets diarrhea if I give her psyllium every day (even a pinch once a day). Every other day seems to work better. I think even @Fistuk & Shelly had the same experience of too much psyllium leading to diarrhea.

Ok good to know! So he won't get anymore till Sunday then. I was still only giving a pinch but I certainly don't want to overcorrect LOL
 
It took some experimenting and trying and testing to see what works. It's not so easy as it takes the GI some time to balance itself and if there's an underlying cause it's not easy to say where the diarrhoea comes from. Eventually I found that 1/8tsp psyllium twice a day is the sweet spot for Fistuk. Before, I gave him too much and sometimes it gave him diarrhoea and sometimes constipation :banghead:
I think that S. bouldarii has done miracles for Fistuk. He gets half a capsule twice a day. besides the fact that he's just looooving it it gets his goods moving in a good rhythm.

I've also added the AnimalBiome PB gut restorative now. I'm on a mission to restore Fistuk's GI from all the carb crap he's been having all these years.

So you are continuing to give the s. Boulardii even with good movement. I will see how we end up. Like you said it's a hard process to find exactly what works. We never had an issue before and this came out of nowhere and disappeared just as fast. So not sure it will return...be an issue or not.

Thankyou so much for the info. I will definitely keep all this in mind while trying to fine tune the gut.
