its amazing how a # in the 400s doesnt look so bad after getting 3 #s back to back in the 500s :YMSIGH:

Im not really thrilled with how the Regular insulin affected him last night. It only seemed to stall his bounce for a couple hours the first time I used it and the second time, when I even upped the dose to 0.2 units of R, I seemed to have no effect at all! (Ive never seen him go above the 500s so I dont think he was heading that much higher than that) I stopped testing after R+3 last night because I just couldnt take getting the black numbers anymore. I gave him some fluids and just headed to bed.

And Im becoming more convinced that he actually bounces from the R (I think the sudden drop in BG makes him bounce from it regardless of how high his #s are)

So those are my thoughts. Im going to give him some time without any R, antibiotics, and a new dose so hopefully things will settle down a little.

He seems starving this morning, and like he has a little hangover or something, but otherwise not as bad as I would think.

Michelle, you get an A for trying so hard to do the best you can for Crushy. Maybe, he will surprise with doing better on less insulin. 2 units is not his dose... I don't think you can do anything more than reducing.

Hi Michelle,

Sending vines that Crushy comes down safely from this bounce and surfs in some blues/greens for you!
Hope your new game plan works out!
