I think I heard him eating a bit before his AMPS. We leave out his auto feeder because he eats every 4 hours, so he must have not ate everything when it first opened at 2:30am.

For long term diabetics, the reduction point is 40 and not 50. Some caregivers follow the rule of 3 drops between 40 and 50 on 3 separate days.

A bit more detail, the 3 drops between 40 and 49 is for kitties who don't hold reductions well. Often that's true for long term diabetics, but not always.
