Re: 12/08 Pepper AMPS 389

Hi Nancy. I don't think I've posted in Pepper's condo before, but Sienne did ask me to take a look at Pepper's ss a few days ago. I agree with the suggestion to have Pepper tested for high dose conditions. The results of the tests could offer some insight as to why we're not seeing much movement. And it's also possible Pepper just needs more juice than other kitties to cause a break through. All in all, testing at this point just seems like a good idea.

FWIW, if I were in your shoes I'd also start thinking about increasing in increments of 0.5u rather than the customary 0.25 unit increases if you're around to monitor... at least until you see Pepper dropping into the low 200s or 100s.

Thanks for looking over Pepper's spreadsheet, and for the advice. The next increase will be .5 instead of .25. I'm really hoping Pepper just needs more juice and doesn't have anything worse going on. Thanks for stopping by.

Re: 12/08 Pepper AMPS 389

You're welcome.

Good luck with your vet. Most vets think high dose conditions are so rare that they don't want to test for them. We know it's just not true because we see so many here on the board. It might come down to you having to ask your vet to humor you by doing the tests. I presume you've been supplied with the necessary testing information as posted in the High Dose Group.

Whatever the outcome, Pepper doesn't give a hoot. All he wants is your love and attention...

No, I don't have the necessary testing information as posted in the high-dose group. I didn't know there was necessary testing info. Is it posted in the Acromegaly, IAA, cushing cats support group forum here at the FDMB? Thanks for telling me!

Nancy
