Hi Paola, I haven't been keeping up, so sorry to ask again, but why does Blaze get cerenia? What is the underlying cause for inappetance/vomiting?
Does he have a history of pancreatitis or CKD?

Have you tried Ondansetron?

No worries at all!
He gets Cerenia because he has recurring nausea which sometimes translates into vomiting. The vomiting is not often but the nausea is. He might have mild pancreatitis but the vet doesn't really think so. In any case because he does have nausea often I asked him (after the advice given here) to prescribe Cerenia or Ondansetron. He didn't oppose to Cerenia, so I am going with that for now and it has worked great so far. Blaze has been eating well. Only accident was yesterday when piece must have got stuck on his teeth and he vomited and had excessive salivation. Today he is doing great and eating well. He has never had CKD.

In addition to that, Elise suggested to buy gel capsules. I have purchased them on Amazon. I didn't know they existed! and I think this is going to be a game changer in ensuring that the pill goes down and he doesn't taste it.

Hi Elise, I did ask my cousin's vet to help. My cousin told me that as soon as he is able to speak to him, he will let me know. He hasn't told me anything yet. I hope I get the RX soon. If not, for now Blaze seems to respond well to the Cerenia.

Venting* I am having so many technical difficulties today...one after the other. Everytime I get stressed, but keep it all inside, Blaze comes and sits on my lap. It's like he knows...

:bookworm: blown away by the amount of info. The vet had told me to give both cerenia and famoditine but it clearly says that's not indicated and best not to do.
Yeah. It's a phenomenal site. I haven't scratched the surface!
Stomach acid can cause them to vomit. If the vomiting is on account of stomach acid, then famotidine helps. But if the problem is nausea, then its ondansetron that you want.
