yesterday

Found a fur ball last night which may be why Spitzer disappeared into the basement yesterday.

This morning, he was on the bed with me, to help me wake up (concert hell week - 3 nights of rehearsals, then 4 performance over 3 days!)

AMPS=258, so he's coming back down from missing one night.

Made it over to WalMart and picked up more of the Special Kitty, plus requested they order some cases for me, to reduce trips to weekly.

Mid yellow is good...especially since you are so busy. Hope the concert goes well! Break a leg! ;-)
(or whatever you say for a concert! LOL)

Thanks for the good wishes.

Right now, I'm vegging ... and getting nuzzles from Spitzer telling me I need to refill the food bowls, LOL

Amazing how they know what to do to get food!

Off to fill 'em up and then run some errands before the afternoon's performance.

I hadn't put the glucometer back in the bathroom, so when the friend couldn't find it, he went with an appropriately conservative option and did not give insulin.

This, of course, I found out after tonight's concert, so 5 hours later, was able to test ... and Spitzer was up to 417. *sigh*

I'm sorry BJ. That's got to be frustrating. It probably was the safer route, though. I suspect your friend is a little syringe shy after the last bit of excitement.

Ouch. That really is a bummer but you're right. If your friend that given the shot and didn't know what his number was and Spitzer was low the result could have been much worse. There's not much you can do about it except start fresh again tomorrow morning. Just look at it as a fur shot . Get some rest for tomorrow.

He told me that some of the food bowls were empty and Spitzer seemed very hungry; I explained that if Spitzer was observed eating a lot, it would have been safe to give half the dose (since about every 3rd time of stable dosing, Spitzer goes unexpectedly low), but that waiting was OK too.

Now the fun part of explaining that hunger can be either low or high glucose levels! (Low because you need to eat; high because you don't have insulin to let you use the glucose that is there.)
