Many of us feed in installments. I divide up Gabby's food into 4 parts. She gets fed at pre-test, +1, +2, and +3. Feeding in smaller, more frequent amounts puts less of a burden on the pancreas than one big meal. Until Tubby starts spending more time in lower numbers, there's a good chance he'll be hungry. It's the nature of diabetes -- it's often referred to as a starving disease. Because glucose isn't getting into the cells efficiently, Tubby is hungry. It's OK to feed. It won't mess up his numbers in a big way since you're feeding low carb food.
As an FYI: If you have a question, if you change your subject line in your first post of the day's thread and indicate you need help, have a question, etc., people will respond. If you don't change the subject line, people may not stop in or notice that you have a question. Likewise, it helps to keep the subject line updated with the most recent BG tests. That way is people see something noteworthy , they will comment.
