110/14 Costello not eating. Pmps help

Wally says Costello had +6 of 331, amps 538. He threw up at +6 and hasn't eaten since. He is acting fine.

He wouldn't eat canned mackerel. He has a can of gravy Friskies for hypo. I am wondering if he should rinse off the gravy and try a little of that.

Ideas?

FYI Money is incredibly tight. Even going out to get a small can of Fancy Feast is a problem at this point. And it is 5:30 am and the store isn't open. He should have some help today, but doesn't have yet.

Update. He is going to try the Friskies without the gravy and see if he will eat. Then I am thinking 2 units?

So we got decent numbers but the food is an issue. Wally is going to try putting the gravy on his face, opening up some people tuna, feeding him by hand. He did eat a few tiny bites of the Friskies. He'll try to get him to eat more for the next few minutes and then go ahead and shoot. And then keep trying.

He has a syringe and as soon as the stores open, he'll go get some pate type food, water it down and try to get some in him that way.

Compared to recent numbers, those are okay. At least it is shaped like a "curve". I talked to wally last night. If he can get to walmart, not close by i think, he is going to look at some special kitty flavors for costello.

I might have missed this... has he checked for ketones?

I am sorry if I am out of the loop in asking this... But it scares me when they quit eating. Also, is money still an issue for the food etc?

Yes, we have been urging ketone testing but money is the issue. He is supposed to get a package today with ketone strips. He is also getting some help for the food, but it is not there yet.

Let's help him... Do you have an address we can ship to? Maybe a care package is in order.

He has gotten support. Someone is sending syringes, someone is sending ketone strips. I think DCIN is also helping out. It's just that the mail takes time and nothing has arrived.

If you want to help, send me a pm. I have his address.

He had Internet but couldn't afford it anymore so I call and relay his info. He gets on his sister's Internet mid day when possible.

Update. Still not much food going in. He is syringe feeding with the pate mixed with water and Miralax.

Pmps is571. So many variables - constipation, high numbers, not eating.

2 or 2.5? Little worried he could give him insulin and then Costello would throw up.
 
So we went with 2 units because we figure the level is higher due to all the other issues.

Wally is going to get ketone strips tonight and will continue to try to feed small syringes amounts.

Wish something would break their way......
 
Jeez, Costello isn't making this easy, is he?
Good call on the two units. I just wish he'd start to come down more, but I hate to up the dose too.
So Wally didn't get any strips in the mail today? Crap.
Has he tried the chicken he mentioned yesterday?

constipation can make them inappetant as it makes them feel bad. also, if kitty strains too much to go poop, they can make themselves vomit too

no package today?

not sure if it's a good idea in this case but when i have a kitty who seems gassy or has super hard poops, a teeny bit of milk seems to loosen things up for them. ?????
