AMPS 448 3.0 u's
Gave him the Cowboy Cookout (boy howdy) for 1st breakfast and before I left I gave him a can of chicken FF.
PMPS 233 1.0 u's
Since I'm technically changing his food, I scaled back to 1.0 u.
New England Boil for dinner. Still have to give him 2nd dinner...another can of FF or just leave him with the 6 oz can of Merrick?
+1.5 300

1.5 food spike. how much less carbs is he getting now...he was always on low carb right?
is this super low carb?

He's been on Fancy Feast no gluten, low carb food - beef, chicken feast, and oceanfish. I've been seeing some chatter lately about how FF changed their recipe or something a few months back and a lot of people noticed higher BGs. So, I figured I would try and change his food to something else low carb and low fat to help with the chronic p'titis.
Cowboy Cookout 5% carbs; FF chicken feast 4%. But didn't I read on Dr. Lisa's site that it's also from where the carbs come from that matter too? Maybe the Merrick has better ingredients?

confused_cat Who knows, this is Klinger we're talking about and he could just be throwing me a low number.

WOW, that's awesome if Kilnger will eat the Merrick!! It is better nutritional profile than the blasted Wellness. It is good food. H would not eat it and none of the Coons here in Indy will eat it sadly. Well Mr. T, my adopted feral here, might eat it but he's not having P problems currently.

Gator, He wasn't too jazzed about the turducky - why can't I get this name right?
They had a sale at Petco - buy 6, get 2 free. So, I bought all of the flavors for him to try. Tomorrow I'll serve him the Grammie's pot pie.
Sounds yummy. Anyway, I'm still going to try the boiled chicken later this week. Need to get to the store. ;-)
Have a great night!

"gently" boiled

BTW- I was talking to my nursing school DD, and she said the teachers told them its best to be consistent with insulin shot location to keep the absorbtion rate predictable. I questioned this because on Cody he seemed to get thick skin where I shot for years above his shoulders so I move it all around (and split each shot into 2-3 locations). and she said its desirable to move it around some, but stay on the same general area (stomach or thigh, or arm) for example. Of course humans have a lot larger choices...

So Marcy, on the days when he suddenly decides to go green, could it have anything to do with the injection- like hitting a blood vessel or muscle or something? Oh Klinger- what are we gonna do with you? I'm really glad your'e trying different foods. I remember Prudence? suddenly improved with a food change (to Special Kitty which looks like its higher in fat? so maybe not good for P'itis) I've heard good things about Merrick i think-( good thing he doesn't eat very much or you'll need a 2nd job!)

TURDUCKEN!!! [duck inside as chicken inside a turkey]

Wish I knew a song about turducken...

Yes gently. The closest thing in the SR21 database calls for "stewed" chicken. I actually wrote the USDA to figure out what "stewed" meant. The response was that to follow general cooking books - not much help.

Anyway, I SLOWLY brought the heat up in the pot until the chicken strips I cut from the boneless breast was cooked to 165F. So technically it was not boiled, but it was at the minimum USDA recommended temp for cooked poultry.

well i'm assuming it's an ucky turd and i think that's priceless as a cat food name
