First thing this morning, Junior said hi to me then grabbed the plastic TP packaging and carried it into the living room. Where he crawled in and started doing somersaults.
Naughty boy? WCR- GOOD!

Ava, may have given Junior a "smidge" over 0.1u. Crazy to think a minute amount more would cause him to start dropping that fast.

I fed him some LC. Be back for a +3.

i love the he feels so good. Crazy yes but you also might have a little of the previous dose working. Some cats are super sensitive to small amounts of insulin and mine is one of them. The food switch seems to definitely agree with him!

Awesome WCR! Yep, most vets wouldn't believe it, but some cats really are just THAT sensitive to the juice - JuJu is living proof! Keep it safe, JuJu!!!

Yes....that's a pretty big dive. I hope the bounce is starting to clear so we can see how he likes this dose. You might want to grab a +3 just to see if he continues at the same rate.

I'm actually at the laundry mat, while Ava is cleaning house and watching JuJu. She decided to feed him a little HC 18%. Probably not necessary considering he is slowing down but that's my fault for not telling her the HC is only for <50.

That's ok. We all gotta learn. This is awesome, though. I hope he continued to come down but the HC might have stopped him completely. Looks like this dose might be ok for him but I'd sure like to see some green....... :mrgreen:

Yeah, the HC stopped the drop quick. That's ok because now we know he should respond quick to the HC in the future if we, NEED, to give it to him.

Ok, so after talking with Ava a bit, we've discovered that today's dose was actually 0.1u. She said the last 3 doses would fall in between "some" and 0.1. I know that's not an official dose but she said that it was about twice as much as what would come out from just inserting and releasing the plunger. Which is how "some insulin" is described. Should I change the SS to "some", or maybe 0.05?

So, 0.1u was looking really good but we stalled it with HC. Totally my fault for not letting Ava know not to give HC unless <50 BG. Hopefully he doesn't spike too much and we can see some :mrgreen: after his PM dose.

I wouldn't worry about the hc stopping things today. It's better if he can continue on the 0.1u for a few cycles.

You could either adjust your ss dose column note or make a note of the dose in the comments section.

FWIW, back when BK got to doses under .5u (FDMB class of 2008-2009 ;-) ) I was encouraged to practice with colored water and find 'my' 0.25u and 0.1u. When I felt I had found those, I saved the syringe to use as a guide so that I could be as consistent as possible. No matter that my 0.25u may not have been the same as the next persons, what mattered was that I was consistent with the dose.
It worked out pretty good :cool:

Funny you should mention that because I had Ava take pictures of her 0.25 dose a coupe days. She was smart enough to add food coloring. We hadn't thought of saving the syringe, though. Genius!

It would be good to see what he does on a consistent 0.1u. I'm hoping the HC just put the brakes on
the duration today. But tell Ava not to worry....every single one of us has done it multiple times :-D
