I appreciate that! I usually try to get a +4 (which is 1 am) and sometimes if she's having a "normal" night, I try for something later. But last night I had 3 alarms set and I had poked her so many times yesterday, I felt Ok calling it quits after +4.

I know what's going on here...I asked my vet to fax an Rx to Mark's Marine for a vial instead of a pen because at 4 units, Jill's flying through the pens. So she's trying to foil my plans to save some dough!

I’d switch that order to pens, lol. Looks like she hit the breakthrough dose and might just be flying down the dosing scale . The depot is in play though so let’s hope this reduction sticks. I think it just might. Big anti jinx.

Yes. It just means that sometimes at a dose, the cat's pancreas seem to flip a switch and the cat races down the dosing ladder after going up and up!

It’s simply the dose that clicks and gets him into good numbers. I think there could have been a little glucose toxicity which is gone. A very good thing. Some cats once they hit the magic dose just slide rapidly down the dosing scale.

If on insulin but not enough cats sometimes need to keep upping the dose to get to a good one. That’s all. It’s not a bad thing. It’s why you had to keep increasing. Don’t worry about it. He’s in a very good place now and his pancreas might just be waking up.

She seems fine now even with BGs in the 40s but I’m still worried. But I also for once see a light that could be at the end of this tunnel. Even if I’m getting ahead of myself.

The hc i have is minced beef with gravy and she has a little hard time with the minced beef. She’s got no teeth! Should I try straight Karo or mc and Karo. what else do i have in cans…?

The carbs are in the gravy so squeeze out the gravy and put on mc. You can add a little karo to it. It’s .25 reduction.
