11/8 Minnie 82@amps, 91@+2

I gave her the HC and she’s still acting normal.

So, on this, it's really hard to predict the connection between the meter number and hypo symptoms. Different cats, different days, etc.-- some cats have been known to dip into the 30's or even 20's without symptoms, but then on other days start showing signs in the 40's or even 50's. Or they can be hanging out in low numbers seemingly fine, and then suddenly show severe hypo symptoms. That's why we use that 50 cutoff, takes the guesswork out of things, but it's not at all unusual for them to be acting fine in the 40's.

I always get confused. When does the honey come in? I guess if she’s still going down at the next test?

Depends, but usually I would break out honey if the cat dips below 40 or is otherwise being stubborn in lows. It's what you use when you want the quickest result possible.

In this case, Minnie is still early in the cycle and it's possible you'll be at this a while, so as much as we can do with food the better (more staying power, less chances of tummy upset than repeated doses of honey).

Got it. Makes sense. Thank you!

Depends on how carb sensitive the cat is. Some come up with MC, some need really high carb. Keep track of what you feed, how much and when on the spreadsheet, and it'll help you figure out a strategy for next time.
Yes, I noted when and what I fed her. She’s 65@+4. I gave her a bit more HC. Good news is she seems to react well to the HC and she’s enjoying eating her favorite FF Tuscany again with all the grains of rice :bighug: I’ll test again at +5 now and if she’s still going up switch back to LC?

It's still a bit early in the cycle, Ale, so I'd suggest testing again at +4.5 to make sure Minnie doesn't drop back.

On that note, I see that you're in good hands here, Ale, so I'm going to duck away. (Not feeling too good right now.)

Wishing for the rest of the cycle to go smoothly and safely for your girl.

Thank you Mogs and feel better!!

Of course Minnie won’t budge from the garage where it’s nice and warm so I keep running between the house and there. She’s slightly annoyed with all the testing but seems conflicted since she’s truly enjoying the almost full can of FF Tuscany she’s gotten by now :D

OK, she's having a nice surf today :)! I'm going to step away from the computer for an hour or so and will check back then; if Minnie decides to head down for a little swim with the sharks again, be sure to edit your title to get some eyes on things more quickly.

She's working it!

I’m assuming as the Lantus is kicking in the HC is keeping her bg from dropping and keeping it steady? That’s what I’m making of it. Let’s see what happens at +6
