The cats woke us up at 4AM again. I keep trying to get them on more of a 6A/6P schedule, but they keep waking us up early. By the time I got everything sorted, it was a 4:45A testing.

AM Test/Feed/Shoot summary:
  • Cliff played a little hard to get again (he did that last night too.) It was ok, because I have the time to be patient.
  • Both ate good.
  • Shot-I have a confession. Cliff started to buck a little while I was trying to shoot, so I put the syringe down for 2 seconds, to get a better grip on him. I realized after I did the shot what I had done (not recapped the needle and put it down.) I know that this makes the needle not sterile, but the needle did not drop or touch anything directly. Making this mistake will definitely train me not to do that again. I feel pretty bad about it. I think I do need Dave to help out when he is around, at least a bit longer.
Hope it's a great day!

PM test/feed/shoot notes:
  • Found out hubby gave Cliff banned treats earlier today. (I had moved all the banned foods/treats to another part of the house until I could find time to donate or giveaway these items. Don't know how he even found these treats!) I guess we're two for two in terms of oopsies today.
3 things to be thankful for:
  1. The right to vote
  2. Phone calls with my Dad
  3. The nice weather today... It was beautiful in MD!

Oh those kitties! If only we could explain Daylight Savings Time! That does explain to me why Tigress was at my door meowing at 4:30 the last few days (I forgot we changed the time already...). I couldn't figure out why she was waking me early!

Don't feel too bad about the needle. We've all done crazy things and learned! You're doing great with Cliff. He's so lucky to have you!

Thank you for the kind reply! It's good to know that I'm not alone in this. :)

No, Michele, you aren't alone and you're doing very well. I've done the same thing with an uncapped syringe and used it anyway. To my mind, the needle has to travel through kitty fur on its way to the skin so it probably picks up bacteria that way every time we shoot.:)

Mine have been wanting food early too but I think they're slowly adapting to the time change.

Thank you, @Kris & Teasel , sincerely. You have been so kind, patient and supportive with me! Thanks for making me feel better about my morning shot "technique." :)

And I forgot about how the time change might be affecting the kitty wake-up/hunger times, until these two comments. We will all figure it out soon!
