Good Morning, Everyone,

Sending many healing vines to Tawny, Calistica, Ozzie, Rocket, and all other kitties in need of them.

After seeing the rise in numbers last night and this morning I decided not to trust the already-opened (47 days ago, but not used more than four times) Lev. FlexPen. I don't want to compromise Rusty's string of good numbers. So I used the old cartridge this morning and will open a new one at PMPS. This caution might be unfounded, but I feel more comfortable.

Rusty had a good night, good morning routine, and is presently chillaxin on one of his cushions. Edward and I are feeling quite a bit better. Thanks to everyone for your get-better wishes! As Ann and Roni both say from experience, this is a particularly virulent cold virus. In any event, we are declaring ourselves better and today we are going to drive down to Camp Stu to put the covers on the 2 canoes we have stored there (at our friends' house). Rusty will stay home and eat from his automat. It's still cold (26 degrees), but expected to be a nice day. We won't leave until the late morning.

Everyone have a good day,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/7 Rusty AMPS 176

So glad you are both feeling better Ella! We just opened a new flex pen last night ourselves. Always makes me feel better too altho I think the analogue insulins are a lot more stable than the older kinds....anyway, here's to new pens!!

YAY!!! The beans are better!! Good news. :-D Travel safe to camp stu! sure sounds cold, but with all that sun I bet it is beautiful, and will be a nice drive.

Nice blue there Rusty - now remember the greens! THINK GREEN, OK?

Great that you and Edward are feeling better. Have a nice trip to Camp Stu. Hopeful that the new pen will fix the numbers for Rusty. Stay warm.

Re: 11/7 Rusty AMPS 176

Have a nice day a Camp Stu. It should be beautiful even if it is cold. I hope the fresh pen works for Rusty tonight, Tess has certainly been on a roll w/ hers.

Rusty, Mannie is on his way for you. Gracie's catnip today!, We can make Stu's parfaits! -- Tess

Re: 11/7 Rusty AMPS 176, +3.5 142, +9 41/52, +10.25 59

Hi again,
It looks like Rusty decided to go green today in a big way. I tested him at +9, when we got home, and at first got 41 (the blood drop may not have been big enough), retested and got 52 (all of this on the old cartridge). Still in the 50s (59) at +10.25. Now I'm not so sure that I want to open a new cartridge tonight. I may just go another day or so with the old, almost empty, one. Maybe I'll try the old, but not much used, FlexPen again. Don't know what I will do and will decide at PMPS!!

back later, have to cook dinner now.

Ella

WOW!!! I'd say the old juice still has some "juice"!!! Is it me or have Rusty's cycles changed so that his nadir is much later now? I know you said a few days ago that it was but it seems like it has stayed that way....towards the end of his cycle like Gracie and Tess.

I'm so glad to hear you all are feeling better and got to Camp Stu and battoned down the canoes. I'm sure that was bittersweet!! I know how much you love canoing and visiting Camp Stu.

I can't believe another winter has rolled around for you all....it seems like it just started warming up there.

AUNTIE ELLABEAN!!!! Tanks you for sending me cimmamum cupcakes wif Rusty!!!! YIPPPEEE!!! I'm a happy kitten but I do wish I had seen you too!!!! I miss you and lub you Auntie!!!!

Re: 11/7 Rusty AMPS 176, +9 41/52, +10.25 59, PMPS 77

Hi again,

PMPS 77 and I decided to go another cycle with the old--almost empty--cartridge. Tomorrow I'll start a new one. I shot the full dose, figuring that onset won't begin for about 4 hours. I hope we won't be up all night! Yes, Marje, Rusty's cycles have changed since I upped his dose to 2.0 units. Now the nadirs come much later, sometimes not until PS. I think yesterday was a "rest" day (flat, lower blues) and the "bounce" started last night and culminated in today's AMPS (but I can't be sure that it wasn't the FlexPen that caused the "bounce": I used it 47 days ago for 4 cycles and decided it wasn't working well, so set it aside. Last night I used it again, just to see what would happen.)

Off now to visit some condos. Camp Stu is all ready for winter and the camp canoes have been covered and tied down on our friends' racks. It was too cold to eat our lunch on the porch, so we went over to our friends' house and ate it there with them. It really looks like late fall (all the leaves are down; no snow yet).

Beautiful day today for Rusty. I'd be leery of that pen that has been sitting around, it doesn't have a great track record.

Nice to have lunch w/ your friends, but sad another year at Camp is over. Still you have so much to do up there.

Rusty, over here! I just got to the lagoon too! What do you want to do? -- Tess

Wow! Great day for Rusty! I think the old pen wanted one last hooray.

Always a little sad to close things up for the season. Time flies by so fast. Hope you got everuything done you set out to do. Great news that you and Edward are feeling better!!

Re: 11/7 Rusty AMPS 176, +9 41/52, +10.25 59, PMPS 77

It was the miracle mouse soup that did the trick didn't it!?!?!?!

Glad to hear you and Edward are on the mend, and sorry to hear you had to close up camp stu for the season.....where will the kitties go now?

Gorgeous numbers from Rusty today!!
