11/7 Obie Amps 382 Had a few not to shabby days.

He has been swimming in the pink forever it seems. This mornings number is partially because he had 2 late night snacks because he conned two people into feeding him. That cat is a scoundrel and a LIAR!!! Anyways. I will most likely see the vet in the next few weeks whom I'm sure is going to want to change insulin from lantus to Prozinc partially because" It really doesn't make sense that he should have patterns like that". I am having a very hard time believing that they know how to treat my cat, but what if Prozinc is what he needs? It's hard to tell. I have a hard time believing in much of their advice due to the terrible advice that they were giving me via email (And charged me 60$ for(I guess stupid advice cost $$$ too)). But anyways. My lantus is dated to be good unused and refrigerated for several more months , but it is about 4 months since I first opened it and the vet thought I should get a new one after 10 weeks. I think they are quite oblivious to how wasteful and expensive that would be for an insulin that seems to still have a kick to it. Also I quit using the AlphaTrak because thats a stupid wasteful gimmick that they also insist i use. I think its because they sold it to me plus an emergency box of 50 strips(Strips were 80 from them). I really wish it was more about treating the cat than bilking customers. Anyways.

Lantus VS Prozinc VS Lev is an ongoing debate....the best one? The one that works for your cat

Skooter used his first vial of Lantus from May 5th until Oct 25th and he did wonderfully that whole time after he got with the program with just a few hiccups.

Glad to hear that you decided to stick with one meter and decided to go with the less expensive one There are so many high dollar expenses when having a diabetic kitty, whenever we can find a deal, we need to take it!

What is kind of funny is that since daylight savings time kicked in, and I just dosed him at his regular slot instead of moving him an hour forward that his numbers are slightly looking better.
He has to wait an hour later to eat for his "When I'm off work feeding" , since every time I leave and comeback he wants to eat, but it might be helping a little.

nice to see you guys! I think the last time you posted over here there was a story about Obie and chili . . . :lol:

looks like he's had good day cycles the past 3 days. I think it's possible he might be going low late at night and those high pink amps are bounces. You might want to drink a giant glass of water before you go to bed, then when you have to get up, check his BGs.
