Why is Moon Moon still in outer space?? 🪐

I know it’s paranoid but I’m wondering if the insulin pen is bad? It’s new though and maybe I’m just grasping at straws for something to blame.

Maybe it IS the eye drop stress even though we’ve been administering 100mg gaba 2x a day? We’ve decided to go for a second opinion on Tuesday, not because we think our first ophthalmologist is bad, but because we’d like to get a second independent opinion before we keep going with these eye drops for 3-4 weeks.

At least Moonie is her happy and outgoing self as always. She does look awfully cranky with me after the eye drops though.

Here’s Moonie showing off her hunting prowess as the fierce predator she is! 🐈‍⬛

It looks like she's dropping a bit. Maybe she's coming back down now, and maybe she's just been having a bounce ??
I mentioned this yesterday--perhaps it got overlooked: is it possible that the eye drop is a steroid and that could be boosting her numbers??
I hate it when they have these unexpected bg increases. I've wondered about the insulin before, too, even with a new vial, especially when Jude's numbers shoot up right after opening a new vial. For us, though, I think there has never been a correlation between the higher numbers and the new vial because things seem to eventually go lower on that same vial. But Jude has frequent periods of spiking numbers, so I've often spent a lot of time trying to examine any and every variable. In other words, I get your frustration.

It’s nice to see Moonie slowly making her way back to better numbers, let’s hope she stays in the blues and greens, not the lime ones though!

And she looks absolutely adorable in those pictures! Such a fierce little hunter!

For your appointment I’m always a fan of getting a second opinion. It certainly can’t hurt!

Looks like your sweet hunter panther was just bouncing today! Good girl coming back down again Moonie!🌊🏄‍♀️🥰
I hope you get some good answers with a second opinion. It can never hurt.

I agree either way Mary on the insulin. We are always trying to figure out why suddenly it doesn’t seem to be effective. It seems that usually there’s something else going on and it’s not the insulin but we always want to question that. I’ve done the same thing too.

Hope you have a calm and steady night Connie. She’s so beautiful in hunter mode 🥰🐈‍⬛💕

Come on Moon Moon 🌙 Come back down slowly and gently.
It's very pawsible that the stress from receiving the eye drops would make her BG higher.
Hopefully she shows you today how to work that juice.
I love these hunting photos of Moonie. I hope she got that string.
Happy Caturday
🙋🏻‍♀️🐾🤗🥰🐈‍⬛❤️🐈🐈🥜😻✨️🍁
Thank you Karolina! I think you’re right that it’s the eye drop stress. She’s been coming down nicely since the gaba has been kicking in, so hopefully it’ll be a non-issue as she gets used to them. And yes! She did get the string being the apex predator she is! 🐈‍⬛🤣

Thanks Mary! Her prescription eyedrops is ofloxacin, which is an antibiotic. I’m not sure if that could affect her numbers? I’m kind of starting to think it’s the eyedrop stress but who knows. I feel like it’s always a mystery!

Aww thank you Britta! I’m sure Moonie would be very jealous if I told her about Regs and his hunting adventures with all the Florida lizards 🤣

I think so too on the second opinion - hopefully we’ll get more insight one way or the other!

She's back to work! Might be an interesting night...
Thankfully (?) I think the stress from the eyedrops or the eyedrops themselves are keeping her a bit high. Maybe that’s what you can threaten Bell with.. if she keeps up naughty lime bounce breaks at night tell her you’ll put some eyedrops in her and stress her back to dark greens and blues!

Thank you Staci! I think I always want to blame the insulin because it’s the most innocuous explanation of what might be going on. But deep down I knew it was probably fine, since it’s a pretty new pen 😅

I hope you had a wonderful date night with your son!
