Hi again,

We are back from the vet. The blood tests came back normal for everything except GGT, which was 3 U/L (normal is 0-1; Rusty has always been <0 U/L). The vet says that GGT has to do with the gall bladder/ bile duct connection to the liver (or something like that; I'll have to look it up online). The results of Rusty's urinalysis (by cystocentisis) (sp?) will be back in a few days (she sent the sample to the lab for a C&S), but the preliminary results analyzed in House (UA Analyzer) appear to be unremarkable. In any event, the vet suggested that we might want to have an abdominal ultrasound done in the future, just to see if there is anything amiss that might be the cause of Rusty's weight loss. We'll discuss it when the lab results come back. We would have to go to Williston Vermont for the ultrasound and our vet would then go over the results with her IM consulting vet.

Anyway, Rusty is happy to be home and is busy preparing a menu for the Full Beaver Moon Party tonight. He wants to have the party on the Beaver River.

I'll put the lab results on the Labs tab of Rusty's SS this afternoon.

Dear Ella and Rusty,

More vetty vines for you both, that the tests come back confirming that all's well.

If you have to go; we went for an abdominal ultrasound for Clare and it was very helpful. The vet had suspected there might be a mass but the ultrasound confirmed that there wasn't. It turned out to be some thickening of her bowel from parasites, so worming was the answer.

Hi again,
Rusty had a quiet day of recovering from his vetty visit. He's getting ready for evening TV on the couch + dinner. I put his lab results on the Labs tab of his spreadsheet, if anyone is interested. I still don't know what a lot of it means, but the fact that all but GGT are in the normal range is encouraging. (GGT, however, may be the elephant in the room.)

Rain has begun, the temperature is dropping, and we are supposed to get 5 inches of wet snow tonight. I hope the kitties have better weather down on the Beaver River, where they are having the Full Beaver Moon party. (it is about 100 miles south and west of here, so they may actually see the moon tonight).

I am glad that Rusty had a successful vetty visit, all except fr that GGT. Guess maybe some research is in order? I wonder what it means.... Nice BG's for Rusty seems the vetty visit didn't bother him too much.

Quite the party last night Rusty! the kitties here are still sleeping....
