Re: 11/6 Paisley AMPS/466 +2/374, +6/324, +9/385 Ripped nail

+9/385 Fed

Had DH help check her front right paw as she will hold it up when sitting. It looks like she ripped a nail and cut the side of the pad on that toe. She's been licking at it. I can't see that there is much I can do other than monitor it. If I put anything on it she'll just lick it off. Any idea how long it takes a nail to grow back? I know pads can be a problem but given that it's on the side of the pad I'm hoping it will heal faster. Plan...keep her inside so she isn't walking where the poultry have been hanging out. Give her a clean litter box with lots of litter and keep it extra clean. Monitor for signs of infection. Is there anything else I can do to help it heal better?

Jeepers Lylene - I don't know how best to care for that or how long it may take to heal.
It sounds like it would be very painful. I'm wondering if that's the reason for the high BGs - pain and/or infection. . .

poor baby. i'm wondering if that's the cause for her high numbers too. your plan sounds pretty good, but i don't know much about that. not sure if there are other options . . .

I was wondering the same thing about her numbers and how quickly it would heal. In a diabetic human, this would be cause for concern.
