Three years ago today Squishy Merlin made the journey to the Bridge  Really old old timers may remember Squishy's trips to the moon after sneaking one of Jojo's shoes out of hiding ;-) ... and then a freefall back down to earth , how trips to the groomer always got Mr P working (for a little while anyways  ), the mysterious TOTP, and how Squishy got his nickname. At TBP now so will post more tonight. Here's Squishy's first GA anniversary post: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29065

Yes, I remember the moon kitty very well. Especially since I didn't know what that meant when I first joined. It was amazing how a full moon could affect kitties BG levels.
And I always loved Merlin's nickname Squishy. :-D Sweet, sweet kitty. ((((Karen)))

I remember Squishy well. And I remember 3 years ago well, too.
I hope you are doing okay, and plan a nice evening for yourself.

Thanks, CD and Dyana  Today not only marks Squishy's third GA anniversary but two years ago today, almost to the exact time of Squishy's passing, I brought Leroy home cat_pet_icon The details of that are in the first GA anniversary link above.

Civies are doing well. Leroy is, well, Leroy as usual @-) ohmygod_smile Emma behaves herself for the most part. I bought two SnuggleSafe heat pads for them to use. They liked it the first few times but then ignored it  Now that is has gotten much cooler, they like it again.

Hi Squeem,

Squishy Merlin must have been some great kitty! He is certainly a legend here in LL. Thanks for posting his pictures and his remembrance condos. I see that Leroy and Emma are forever keeping you busy. That's a great picture of the two of them.

I'm sure that the GA kitties are celebrating Squishy's anniversary at the Bridge with one of Chef Stu's cake creations.

Enjoy your evening and your fond memories,

Ella & Rusty

Thanks  I went through some of Squishy's pictures last night. I even went through the pics of him at the ER hooked up to various tubes and equipment  There was even the pic of the big red sign on the cage door warning staff to be cautious opening the door  Squishy always hated going to the vet and was usually fractious but since he was so sick he didn't have anyenrgy to even move. Though I do have the video of him trying to crawl out the open door as I was visiting him  And it was an upper level cage, too  You see Squishy moving towards the door, then the camera dropping, and then voices saying "No! No! No!". Old timers from the old FDMB/LL may remeber seeing the pics and videos.

Squishy is getting to be an Old Timer at the Bridge! He had such a good sense of humour to send you Leroy :-D
I remember the old Squishy days, and it's always good to see his condo and go over the stories from the "olden days" again.

Thanks, Linda :YMHUG: I think Squishy sent me Leroy partly because he knew I needed something crazy in my life @-)

Here's the thread where Greg gave Squishy his nickname: http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/read.php?22,1278907

And the story of how a trip to the groomers always kicks Mr P into action  http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/read.php?22,1053195,1053949#msg-1053949

Lots of good times on the old LL :-D

i wasn't on the board when squishy merlin was, but of course his name instantly brings a "huh?" and is very recognizable. i enjoyed getting to know him through everyone's stories. i'm glad that you are enjoying reminiscing about the sweet little guy (although perhaps the vet techs didn't think he was so sweet!)

hooray for Leroy and Emma bringing you joy and new stories today.
