I thought we were going to get a storm for sure last night, based on the MOOD Papaya was in! I got mauled . . . although I mostly blame it on a mint! I got some sample pack of "Ice Breaker" mints and opened it to try one. They are very minty, and just from smelling me eating one Papaya went catnip-crazy. She got the crazed look and looked around for something to attack, which happened to be the network cable stuck in the side of my laptop as I was sitting next to her on the couch. She plucked it right out with her teeth, wrapped both paws around it and started chewing on the connector end. I stuck my hand in to grab it away and she was quite happy to wrap around my arm and go at that instead! She wasn't in "play" mode at all, more like in "shredder" mode. Sometimes my landlady must wonder what's going on up here!
Then when she came into my room at bedtime to be brushed, instead of letting me pick her up to put her on the bed she squawked, turned around and stomped back out to the hallway. She slept in her catbed in the living room all night, which is very unusual. So I was surprised that we didn't get the predicted snow last night because something seemed to have been in the air!
At least sleeping out in her catbed meant she was easier to ignore until my alarm went off, although she was plucking at the rug a bit earlier. Papaya was feeling good this morning despite the pink preshot. She followed me around while I got breakfast, even wandering into the bathroom which she doesn't usually bother with anymore. She joined me back in bed for her second breakfast, and left a bit of it until a couple hours after her shot. By the time I left for work she was back down to blue and snuggled cozily under the quilts. I wish I was too
