Good Morning, Everyone, and welcome to what my sister calls "Earth Time".
It is 31 degrees and snowing, but not sticking. Tonight it is expected to go down into the 'teens. Edward has to get his garlic planted today (it had been too warm to plant it, and now it may be too cold!). We are thinking of all those people who are without electricity or heat. Today Roni and Brad meet with their insurance representative and with FEMA. I hope they get some answers so that they can start to repair their house.
Rusty woke us up at the "normal" time, but we ignored him and he eventually snuggled down again. He had a good test, breakfast of Wellness Turkey, good shot, and now a good nap on his little bed next to the radiator. Edward is baking bread. This afternoon I will harvest the herbs for drying (didn't get to it yesterday). I have changed the batteries in the smoke detectors, changed the lamp timers, changed the clocks that don't change themselves, and our transition to Eastern Standard Time is complete. It is great to have it light when we get up in the morning. I hate getting up in the dark. I don't mind the late-afternoon dusk: it has always been one of my favorite times of day.
Wishing everyone a good day and sending thoughts and prayers to all who suffered in the hurricane and its aftermath,
Ella & Rusty
