Honey is doing great! The only problem I have is that she's not eating very much which means I have to put tuna juice on her am and pm pre-shot food. Not sure if its that's her plan!
Its quiet here as my husband took the kids away for the weekend - wish I could have gone but I can't leave her that long.
I had some bad news last night as one of my civies - Monster - had a chest x-ray and has an enlarged heart.
He will have an echocardiogram next Friday and we'll get the blood work back during the week. I'm hoping its hyperthyroidism as that could be treatable (of course, very expensive) and his heart could be ok. The vet gave a worse case scenario that he could drop dead at any moment - very scarey. He got all of Honey's shot treats last night !
How's Bast doing? His numbers look great - lots of greens.

Donno if it helps but My mom had a cat with thyroid issues and it was a pill once a day and he lived 6 more years.
Bast is getting cranky about food also. A friend gave me 2 cans of tiki food and he likes it but it is expensive. I just got more friskies at target today in the seafood flavors (discounted bulk box on sale). Maybe I can cut them into the walmart stuff!
Today I left a baby shower because I had to go home to test the cat. People thought i was nuts.

thanks - its hard though - with the tiredness from the odd testing hours, stress from numbers and will they eat, family and work - phew!
At least the blood testing is getting easier!
I also bought myself a hands-free magnifier when I bought the digital calipers at Harbor Freight
Looks nerdy but it works for those teeny tiny syringe measurements

Sorry you couldn't have gone with DH and the kids. I'm sure Honey and Monster were happy to have you home.
Gus had a very slight thickening in his heart when he was dx with hyperthyroidism. He was on methimazole for six months and his heart returned to normal. We then had the I131 treatment done ...that was when he was 9 and he's almost 17 now. I hope you will find something similar with Monster.

He's usually bouncing around, playing with anything and everything and talking away.
I'm going to ring the vet tomorrow about the blood work to see if they can give him anything before he has the echocardiogram on Friday.
