11/4 Herman amps 97 +2 155 +10 104 pmps 77 +5 108

So....its 11am and Herman is still sleeping. He is happy, I have seen him groom himself, go for a pee, and has happily eaten everything I've offered (from a lie down position which really isnt that unusual for him whenever he gets a bedtime snack), but I am curious if others experience anything similar after their cats have hit around 50.
From 5pm yesterday where he hit 54 and then all evening/night until about 1am he was in his downstairs cat bed sleeping like a ragdoll. Again, seemed happy and obviously ate all the gravy and snacks I offered in bed but was extremely sleepy. At around 1am he came upstairs to my bed with me and got his next shot at 330am and has been there since. He is now bouncing (in the mid blues) and he is still in bed. It is unusual for him not to have gone outside yet on such a nice day - he is quite an active cat.
Anyone else experience this? The low greens really wipe him out! Is the only "cure" simply to get him more used to these numbers or could he be a cat with a "normal range" that is slightly higher? I will acknowledge he used to hide when in mid greens - and now his sweet spot is 80-140 (these seem to be the numbers he is most active, playful at) so it could just be a matter of accostomizing to them...

Chewie hasn't gone that low, but I noticed that is super lethargic and sleepy, mostly uninterested in food and pets anytime she dips under 85. I also wonder the same thing, whether they just take time to get used to lower BG, or whether some cats just naturally run a little higher (I guess we could check their BG value from checkups in the years preceding their diagnosis to get an idea?).

Herman took a while to get used to mid greens and low blues - but his behaviors (ie hiding) seemed limited to the time that he was in those numbers, now I feel when he gets to 50 range the affects (lethargy) lasts a significant amount of time. Who knows! Hind sight is 20/20 - perhaps having a baseline BG when your cat is healthy is a smart idea - but I guess unless its been taken over a period of days at different times its about as useful and reliable as a curve at the vet office.

That's true, I checked in my emails for past results, and found one from 2012 when we still lived in California and Chewie was 5 years old and her BG was 229 - probably because 1) she was at the vet's and stressed, and 2) she was sick at the time.
So there goes that theory o_O

Max seems to feel better in the greens. Matter of fact, he can get quite hyperactive lol. He tries to chase me and bite me but I know he’s just being playful. When he’s over 300 though, he looks terrible and acts like he can barely move. It’s crazy how you get to know your cats ways like that. Maybe Herman is just having a lazy day today. He sounds fine otherwise.:cat:

YES!!! And I become a helicopter mom and start worrying excessively.
But then I see the commercial for Fresh Step cat litter
... and in 30 secs I'm reminded that cat's know how to do "less" and we should be more like them.

Disclaimer - I am not promoting this litter.
That’s hilarious! We should all be more like our cats. :cat:
