Good Morning LL ~O) ~O)

We found Mr. Greenie! Was worried we would lose him after the failed reduction, but he came back last night :mrgreen: No to get Twice to hang out at this dose for a while...

Non eventful night here. Early to bed after a very late dinner and Twice decided he was just going to set in the living room by himself and play Marco Polo all night. ohmygod_smile :lol: One more day till the Christmas tree goes up! Oh the havoc that will be. I'm going to start hauling some stuff in today, but dh want me to hold off on decorating the house and creating new trip hazards until he gets the crown moulding up. Maybe I will just do the bathrooms and bedrooms :-D I haven't started Christmas baking yet, but as it will be just myself and dh here, we don't really need very much so I'm not going to panic for at least a week!

Sending healing vines to all in need today. Couldn't find a post for Tigger yesterday, sure hope his eye is draining well and Suzanne is ok. Happy PF is home with the loving family!

Christmas is my favorite time and decorating is the best part dancing_cat
I have to de-Fall first. Next weekend we'll begin Christmas :-D

We are starting putting some of the decorations up today. I will start the tree, civvies will unstart it, I will redo, civvies will undo, and so it goes :lol: :lol: Cleo just sits under it when it is all done and lit up :lol: :-D

Oh TWICE! Just LOOK at those bootiful numbers u haz! Bootiful numberz fur a bootiful kitty huh!

I gave up putting up a Christmas tree but we no longer have any children that even visit so we don't feel TOO bad other than I want my old SILVER foil tree up! Can't do it tho' - those little foil strips can cut kitties/goggies insides if they chew on them. DH builds a tree in our front yard of lights yearly - not really for us but for our sweet little elderly neighbor that is by herself now, Poppy crossed 3 years ago, we lost her fuzzy feetz companion 2 months ago. She won't decorate for Christmas but she truly enjoys seeing our lights - she can see them from her TV chair where she spends 95% of her time. It's worth all the work just to see the twinkle in her eyes. You WILL take pics won't you????!!!!

So lovely to see Twice starting out the weekend in his green suit again. Paws crossed you can keep him humming along in those numbers for a little while longer this time.

So is your tree from the back 40 or does it come out of a box? Pros and cons to both. We've started planning baking and chocolate making here too. Most of the presents we give now are food.

Hi Kim. Glad Twice is in the safe green numbers, hope he does some safe surfing at the Lagoon today.

Sounds like your house will be filled with the Christmas spirit. I guess a lot of folks will be following your lead and start decorating soon. Bet the house smells wonderful when you start baking all those Christmas goodies.

Well he's surfing! And I'm going to go grab more strips since I forgot to yesterday. I have 100 in the house, but around here you never know if you'll get snowed in, etc :? :roll: So far the weather is holding and it is unseasonably warm :-D

Pam-Twice said to tell you Hoot got there safe and sound. Sounds like they're having a blast, lots of splashing in the background!

Jane-That sounds very much like how it goes here. You would swear there is catnip in the decorations the way everyone takes after them :lol: I am so happy by the time Jan. 1st comes around and I don't have to put the tree up everyday anymore :lol:

Lyresa-Now that is the true meaning of Christmas Spirit! It is so sweet that you & DH go through the decorating for the happiness of your neighbor! I'm sure she appreciates it more than you will know :-D We were just talking the other day about tinsel and foil. DH was wondering why we don't buy it so I had to school him on the dangers to animals..I could tell by the time I was done talking he was sorry he asked :lol:

Wendy-We do the boxed tree. House fire is my greatest fear and I will never forget how dry the Christmas trees we had growing up would get (because the pets kept drinking the water from them :roll: ). I love the real thing, but it's just not for us. You? Food as gifts is a big thing for us as well. And our #1 favorite thing to get in return. Everyone seems to have their own specialty and you just look forward to receiving it all year...Yum!

John-The spirit is under way! I have one cat locked in the bathroom, 3 chasing pieces of decorations, one watching from the safety of the couch and the rest are hiding from the barking dogs. I may need some spirit with my eggnog tonight! :roll: :lol:

Liz- :lol: Yup I think you're right about the edit! Did I forget to mention the rats? Crumb! No wonder they have been so naughty lately. I better go fix that, thanks for the heads up :-D

Oh my on the rat story! :shock: :shock: From my days at the shelter, it's amazing how many times the shelter got rats because pet stores kept boy rats and girl rats in the same cage. :shock: It's kind of obvious which is which. :lol: :lol:

And :shock: :shock: :shock: on the fire underground. I hope that doesn't happen very often.

Good luck on the strips hunt. I was just noting to myself this morning that I'm now down to my last 550 today. :lol: I want enough so I don't have to be hunting for those while Christmas shopping is on.

Liz- I work in an underground potash mine down 3000' and one of the pieces of equipment started on fire. Our fresh air comes down one shaft and exhausts out of the other one. The mine is huge, takes over an hour to drive from end to end, with lots of drifts and it's kind of like a maze. When a fire breaks out (and thankfully that's not often), it is impossible to evacuate the mine because we would possibly be going up the shaft with smoke...and if the power fails...not ending well, and also because it would be impossible to track everyone down. So the evacuation system alerts all of the personnel underground to seal themselves in and grab the breathing apparatus from our trucks.

Wow, so many people have their tree up! I really don't want to fight Chyna for a month (she likes to chew on the (fake) tree branches and paw at the balls). Cats will be cats :lol: She used to try eat (and succeeded as seen in the litter box) the tinsel till I found out what it can do to them! Now none of it is allowed in my house :shock: So I think I'll wait a few more weeks...

Twice is looking beautiful in green today :mrgreen: I hope he settles into the dose for some more. Have a good night!
 
Hi Kim & Twice! I got in the Christmas spirit just reading your post! I'm with Mariko, though, I like vicariously living through others' posts so I don't have to do any baking myself! If I had my way I'd be thorugh with cooking for the rest of the season now that Thanksgiving's over! :lol: But - please let us know all the delectibles you'll be baking - just so I can drool on my Christmas sweater! :lol:

We're getting a tree this week, too. Cut tree here, but same concern for fire. DH purchased a 1-gallon sprayer & literally douses the tree several times a day with water - our LR becomes a rain forest! :lol:

Looks like you got your wish, Kim - Twice's surfing nicely :mrgreen: Keep it up, Twice - stay green for the Holiday Season!

Thanks Kim for all the thoughts and visits & support you've given us through Tigger's illness - we're not clear yet, but having support has really helped us through this.
 
Wow Kim!!...Who is that masked kitty with the pretty green numbers??

I'm doing the tabletop tree this year...not worth the effort to put up a big tree when it's only me, 4 cats and a drooler to see it..and with mom in the nursing home this year, the Christmas baking won't get done either...I'll miss that...I won't miss the pounds it puts on though :-D
