Hello!!
Lisa was in remission since summer but recently grew out of it, so I started her on insulin again.
I am anxious about her hitting high blood glucose values, because she also has issues with her kidneys.
Please check out her ss and tell me what you think!
We have scheduled a dental cleaning for her and here are her blood test results, which her vet sais look fine:
creatinine 1.34 mg/dL (0.8 - 1.9)
urea 37 mg/dL (10 - 30)
ALT (SGPT) 40.1 U/l (8 - 52)
phosphorus 4.5 mg/dl ( 1.9 - 6.3)

Sorry she’s still out of remission but hopefully the dental will get her right back. The blood tests you listed look good. Your reduction when she was at 49 should have been to .10 and not a drop. Since she’s come out of remission I actually would only decrease if she drops under 40 as long as you can monitor. Take her up to .10 tonight.

Thanks!
Could you also check if you see anything in the rest of Lisa's exams? The vet said they look fine but I am worried as some values are close or off the reference range:

WBC 17.7 k/μl (5.5 - 19.0)
LYMPH 4.2 k/μl (1.1 - 7.0)
MXD 0.9 k/μl (0.0 - 1.0)
GRA 12.57 k/μl (2.50 - 12.50)
LYMPH 24 % (20.0 - 55.0)
MXD 5.0 % (1.0 15.0)
GRA 71 % (35.0 - 75.0)
RBC 9.1 M/μl (5.2 - 10.0)
HGB 14.4 g/dl (9.0 - 15.6)
HCT 43.2 % (29.0 - 51.7)
MCV 47.5 g (41.9 - 56.2)
MCH 15.8 pg (13.0 - 18.0)
MCHC 33.3 g/dl (28.1 - 32.0)
RDW 23.7 % (14.2 - 17.6)
PLT 254 k/μl (170 - 600)

Hello. The blood values that you have shared are all good. I would not worry. And her creatinine is fine. That’s the most important kidney value of the ones you have listed.
Sorry she’s back on insulin.

Where do you see creatinine? I don’t know what some of those are. MXD, GRA, Was this all that was run? No chem 25 including potassium, BUN, ALT. ETC?

Hi,
I mentioned creatinine, urea and ALT above (no BUN was tested, urea is similar). I am aware that Lisa has renal issues, but I was concearned by some values in the rest blood tests that were close or out of the reference ranges in case they can show possible infection that took her out of remission... Sorry for the abbreviations, but the full names were in greek on the results, so I googled for these:
MXD is monocytes-basophils–eosinophils mixed (or else polymorphonuclear cells)
GRA is granulocytes

I am pretty well-versed in interpreting blood work for cats and I didn’t see anything that was concerning enough to prevent you from doing the dental surgery. I pray that it goes well for Lisa.

Thanks!
So blood work does not show any infection/ inflammation?
(Not sure if she needs dental surgery, she will do dental cleaning, and may remove if any teeth is rotten.)
