Hi Everyone!
Pearl and I are SO VERY SORRY we have been M.I.A. for so long!! This was never my intent! I started a new job at work about the time Pearl went OTJ (9/5/2021) and it has wiped me out. I could NEVER have done this job while checking BGs and giving insulin - so I am so very very grateful Pearl decided to not test me!
Right now, I started FMLA yesterday, and will be off work until February. I am not doing very well, and need to try to focus on my health and regaining strength. I think at some point I will be resigning from my job - but no ideas what to do next or where to go next so far.
Pearl is doing swimmingly! Since being off insulin, she has lost 2 lbs that she had gained in her FD journey and is at a much better weight for her bone structure. She seems overall calmer and cuddlier. I've recently started just checking her BG once a month - still in the 80s!
And the best news....she is completely off Prednisolone! We can thank my forgetful brain for that one, and by the time I remembered she had been off for so long I decided to give it a go and see how she did. So far, so good.
Chessie is also doing well. On day 397 of her living with me, just last night - she decided I was safe enough and finally sat in my lap for the first time.
